Question...what 18650 battery do you have that takes 8 hours long to charge? The 18650s I have; 2600mahs and 3400mahs doesn't take that long to charge. About 4-6, but not 8.
This. My Pila has been going strong for over a year and not a single issue. It's more expensive than some others, but it's well worth it.
Probably a TrustFire. "Not good" ones have been known to take 8+ hours to charge 2000 mAh batteries.
For a lot less money (about twenty bucks) you can get an xtar WP II 2 - and a two year warranty to go with it. I'm charging up to 2500 mAh 18650 batteries in that thing in about 4 hours. Test results show it works nearly identical to a Pila for less than half the price.

I have two XTAR 6's and a Nicore 4, and neither are anywhere close to eight hours. Maybe 3 (tops) for a full charge. And I also have this crazy thing from Australia that charges a dual 18650 pack in 110 mins (from dead to full).

I just bought the efest LUC charger and it is awesome. A little more than nitecore but worth it IMHO.
Charges my 18650 batts in about 3 hours am my 18500 batts in about an hour. My 14500s only 30-45 mins.

Never timed the chargers ever, I always had 4+ bats of each...but I would say it depends on how low you discharge your bats too. This s the only charger I have used strictly for 18650's (maybe 2-3 hours or less) and 14500's (very quick for these).

Since no one else has answered this direct question. It would be a fine charger I have one and inside of 4 hours it's always fully charged. I for one highly recommend it.
edit if your batteries are old it could be part of the problem
I just got one today, but it had a european plug on it. Now I need to get an adapter or another cord. I have an e-mail into amazon, but haven't heard back yet.
My charger that came with the provari kit also charges my 18650, at eight hours or more too. Funny, i thought this was normal until i saw this thread.
