so since today is my 4 year vape-a-versary :headbang:it got me ruminating on my first vape kit, and how the night before it arrived I had my last cigarette. i remember waking up the next morning, and making a bee line to my computer to check the tracking number in anticipation; and hoping it'd arrive before the withdrawals started kicking in.

well the withdrawals did start kicking in but the "out for delivery" tag helped to keep me in check. i was excited to enter this new world of vaping, and hoping that maybe, after trying everything else, this would be the thing to get me off the tobaccy for good. anyway the kit was finally delivered by mid day and i unboxed that thing faster than a kid on Christmas day.

so all this reflection got me wondering what everyone else's first vaping kit was and where they're at now. here's a photo of my first kit, the Apollo cig-a-like, sitting next to my new precious, the Tesla Nano 120 Steampunk.

though the cig-a-like is humble by comparison, and i only used it for a couple of months before diving even further into more advanced vape hardware like the eGo and eGO twists, i can't begrudge it because it was an important first step in helping me quit.

so what's your first and last vape?

I started with Blu's some years ago. Made my way through the ranks of different mods, the VTR helped me quit smoking completely. My first mech mod was a Caravela clone. Fast forward to today, I honestly don't know the exact count of mods I have
Here's what I'm using today

ooh your current setup looks really nice. i seem to fancy either an old fashioned look or something that looks ultra modern, your white one is especially ultra modern.
Well thank you! But I just finished my very own creation. I've had those Picos so tamed down with low watts and TC that first puff on this beastie almost knocked me on my .....

eGo ONE MEGA battery, eGo ONE MEGA V1 tank base, .5 ohm CLR rebuildable coil, STM Bellcap and I think the drip tip is from a never used Cubis tank.

August 10th 2012. SmokelessImage Volt cigalike. I framed my first sleek silver volt with a black cartomizer and labeled it with my quit date.

Today's kit. Well that is a harder question. I have shelves full of kits and use 2 or 3 different ones everyday. I have vaporizers that are earmarked for different situation...out-and-about...bedside...walking the dog...mowing the yard...all day in my easy chair. A different vape for every occasion. My go to is an IPV mini and Nautilus.

I started out with the go-go which was a great cig-alike unfortunately I have no pics. Currently I'm vaping on a Smoant Battlestar. The biggest change was switching to a sub-ohm tank. With it I finally got the thick vapor with just a cig like pull I had been waiting for.

First was over 5 years ago, can't even remember exactly what.
Last will have to wait, maybe a few days before my dying breath.
As for present (well, about a month ago, so there's about half a dozen more today which I haven't got time to take pic yet)

This pic is from December 2010, a little over a year after I switched to e-cigs. From the left, my first mechanical mod, a Super-T 10440 (never used it much, very well-made but battery life was an oxymoron), a Vapor4Life cig-alike (which is what I started with, only the batteries were shorter when I started), a WetBox (which was a POS, but was my introduction to bottom-feeders), a REO Mini from the first run, a REO Grand from the first run, and of course a Marlboro box for size comparison.

I've used bottom-feeders since I got my WetBox - currently I am using an HCigar VT Inbox.

My "First" was a Volcano Magma cigalike kit. That did NOT help me get off the stinkies right away. After I figured I could get cartos and my own juice, things started warming up for me. First "real" device was then a Volcano Inferno. I started cruising and have meandered through a number of different setups. My newest baby:
