He definitely should. After I complained thru the night every night for probably 5 yrs or more, mine went to have the sleep study. The doc says, do you know you move 20 times an hour? My husband said he thought about it, and said, "that must be right, because my wife times me, and says I jump every 3 minutes like clockwork." No apnea though. He took Requip for awhile, with only middling success, then we lost our health insurance. Later I did some research online about "sleep disorders of middle-aged men" and discovered that a very common thread that runs thru nearly all of them is iron-deficiency anemia; hubs was iron-deficient as a child, so I thought, well maybe it's still a problem, so he started taking iron -- and it worked! The "jumps" almost entirely departed. But he still snored like a speeding train, and then when he started going to the VA to see about his hypertension, they said to stop taking the iron. By which time, we had already gone to separate bedrooms, but I know the jumps came back -- when we're watching TV at night, if he's lying down, I know he's awake only if he keeps still -- once he starts jumping every 3 minutes, I know he's dozed off.
