Thoughts and Prayers for Lex...

It has been made known to me that Lex mother is in Hospice, and Lex will be MIA for awhile.

Please take a moment and think of her in her time of need.

Jim
Sending up (continued) thoughts and prayers for Lexi, her mother, and their family. :nun:
Such a sad and difficult time for her.
Thanks for posting this AT.

Thank you, Jim. I've had them both on my mind for a few days now.

Sending love.

Thank you all for thinking of mom, myself & family. With a heavy heart I tell you, she passed away yesterday.
Alzheimer's is cruel to everyone involved but she's no longer suffering inside her own head.
I'm gonna miss my bestie!!!

May we all offer up our prayers for Lex, in her time of need.

Jim

:(

Thoughts & prayers for a friend. I know it may not be worth much, but I offer here the exact words I wrote, what now seems like so very long ago. They helped me then, and if they help you at ALL right now, it will have been worth posting.

Godspeed & peace, @ScandaLeX, for your mom AND for you. Never gone, never forgotten.

Subject: Chimes of Freedom

Too many years ago, a ruthless SOB named Alzheimer's decided to wage war against a perennially happy-go-lucky ex-teacher named Vita Longo, my mother. We watched as the SOB won battle after battle, slowly stripping away every last bit of dignity she had.

Well, if I am my Mother's son - and I am my Mother's son - tonight at 5:30pm she spun out of his grip, shook her fist, laughed as hard as she could and screamed:

"I'm FREE you sonofabeetch! I'm FREE!!!!"

You won the war, Ma - you won the damned war. And tonight, the chimes of freedom are flashing - just for you.

>

Starry-eyed an' laughing as I recall when we were caught
Trapped by no track of hours for they hanged suspended
As we listened one last time an' we watched with one last look
Spellbound an' swallowed 'til the tolling ended
Tolling for the aching whose wounds cannot be nursed
For the countless confused, accused, misused, strung-out ones an' worse
An' for every hung-up person in the whole wide universe
An' we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing.
