About the same length is often not the same length.

The only way to overcome this issue, is to stretch the cap spring, or stop using various length batteries.

Jim

Maybe they are of slightly various length but all of them are too short. I wanted to use the AW batteries, but they are even shorter or the same length ... :( .

Protected ones are longer but performance is worse and there is absolutely no need for protection in this mod.

Jim would you check something for me? I can contact provape of course but warranty means shipping costs from and to Europe ...

If I remove the battery and the bottom cap and shake the body a little bit, it rattles slightly. If I press the button and shake it the same way, just a little bit, the rattling stops immediately.

Is it the same with your provape-1, slight rattling when empty?

I think now it is not the battery that rattles ...

Sure!

Battery removed, slight rattle of free floating button.

Finger resting with very light pressure on side of button, no rattle sound.

Try this looking inside of the tube, take a chop stick and slightly push on the board, towards the top cap.

If you see movement, that could be your problem, the board has become loose.

This generally occurs from a drop. Postage service handling is a possibility.

Well, if the board is the thin metal something sitting where the button comes in, it does not move.

So if yours rattles as well as mine  and your rattling stops like mine does when holding the button, then ... it is the "free floating" button ( does it have to float free?? )

No board movement inside, only rattling - but then this seems to be normal, doesn'it?

Button is only the plastic piece that pokes out.

Everything else is mounted to the board.

If you gently push on the board where the positive battery contacts the board, and see any movement, then the board is loose.

This would allow the batteries to push the board up towards the top cap.

I think I would at least contact ProVape. They may have a better set of tests that you could perform.

No movement on the positive pole. Same what you tell me: If you touch the button, however slightly, no rattling at all.

So it is the button, but maybe I do contact them anyway.

Thank you so much, Jim, for helping me by rattling together a while :toast:

Hey, No Prob...

That's just what we vapers do... Rattle along.

Take Care, Jim

I ordered two AWs yesterday. Let's see if and how they rattle  .

Stretch the spring is of course a further option.
My AW's rattle in my ProVape1, doesn't really bug me though. It's just because of the difference in the size of the tube and the O.D. of the batteries.

It would not bug be either, provided it does not bug the contact pin :)
I would imagine that a small tab of painters masking tape applied to the battery would eliminate the rattle. I would not recommend going all the way around the battery with the tape, just a tab of it to act as a shim to eliminate the gap between the battery and wall of the tube.

They should of put them on sale I would have snapped one up just cauz

Maybe they still will, you never know. I wonder if they listed them till they were all sold out, or just pulled them from the lineup? I kind of regret selling mine now, but thought it better to send it along to someone looking for one to use as a daily driver.
