I to also just got my Protege back and it works now like the day I got it. I had ordered one of the new switches because my old Tact switch had finally given out. When I got the new switch I tried everything for a couple of weeks but could not get it to fire. After several emails with Casey she suggested I send the unit to them and glad I did. I wound up stripping the
threads on the top of the shaft at the adapter and the switch and adapter were not making correct contact.
I have to give it to them on Customer Service, Casey stayed in contact with me and kept me up to date on what was happening with the unit.
