Yes there is. I believe that if a person is too good, they may be compromising one value for another. You know, like apologizing for something you're not sorry for to save an argument; or giving money to someone you know is going to buy drugs with that money. Or the catch-all word, enabling.

Have you ever had to choose between a relationship and losing a good friend b/c that person was also interested in the person you were.

No... usually my friends are all guys and only one is gay.. and he doesn't like the type of men I like!

I think you mis-read that, rain. Same sex relationships was not what I was thinking about. I lost my college gal pal b/c we were both interested in the same man. She never forgave me, and I've never forgotten it.
