there are so many good tanks right now. A couple of good ones are the SubTank Mini and Aspire Triton. there are many others, all really good.
A good set up kit would be Subox Mini kit right now, Easy kick-starter and those wanting to jump back in. 
Most VW devices and subohm tanks are the trend now and are basically considered the new generation starters, easy to learn and use compared to what we had in the past.
Zephyrus and herakles for high watt sub ohm vaping. Aspire triton seems good. Havent get my hands on one yet. So cant comment on it.
Subtank and Atlantis are better IMO. Triton, good luck cleaning and drying it.
IMHO, subtank mini is a good sub ohm tank. Currently, running at single coil 28 twisted A1 Kanthal at 0.6 ohm. Vaping at sweet spot around 25w with my flavor. Excellent.
Just be sure to use a high drain batt if vaping at higher watt.
Never owns a Provari before. Not sure if this mod can go higher watt.

Go for a RBA/RDA & mech for the start mate. Least when supply are made more difficult to come in, you'll be holding on to something that can last for years...

i heard subox mini is a good starter kit but personally i would go for ipv 4s or the snowwolf 200w!
Subox mod is good but not accurate with the ohm and voltage readings but it sure is a beauty and nice to hold. IPV2s/IPV4 are pretty reliable and better.
Just to share that im using a Tesla 160w TC with a Kanger Subtank Plus.. thats high wattage with 7ml tank fun.. home usage only.. bloody obvious if its in public.
Currently tooting on an SMPL mod and Mad Hatter RDA.
Sticking to Mechs for good, had 3 mods die on me, figured a mechanical would last a lot longer (battery safety/safety in general is of utmost importance to me don't worry)
Just my two cents on the SMPL, this thing hits like a truck, direct battery to RDA is amazing!
