Yep I've noticed that it holds the wrap better. Like it takes the "springyness" out of the wire.
Lots of good info on all the wire here thanks!Now have to find some one who buys a big spool and wants to sell some length of it don't want a whole lot untill i'm sure i like doing these.
Kanthal is becoming scarce or overpriced. When I use what I have, I'm just going to switch to nichrome, which seems to be more readily available in smaller quantities.

I'm new to rba's. Got a Line V2 last week. I believe I have the wick preparation down. No I've been working on find the perfect coil. Tried 36awg Kanthal. Kind of flavorless unless I do a lot of wraps for a 4.0ohm coil. But that runs my battery down to fast. No I'm using 32awg Nichrome and I have just as many wraps but a lower resistance. GREAT flavor. I find the more surface area of the wick I cover in coil, the better the flavor.
I still have some 28 awg & 30 awg Kanthal to try that I received with the Nichrome.

Be careful with the 28g and 30g wire. Measure the resistance of your coil on the atty before attaching it to a battery. If you have too low resistance you chance, at a minimum, of destroying your battery.

I just ordered some 32 and 36 kanthal from okcvapes = $1.50 for 3 ft. They have usps shipping too. Hoping the 36 will be easier to wrap and fewer rounds.
I'm using 32 gauge kanthal on my bliss with 270 ss mesh wick. Wicks great but not all the coils glow what would cause that? It's not shorting out, vapour comes off but the coils don't glow. Should I go for 34 gauge?
