Your SmokeStik "stick" or "cigarette" IS the battery. It is a Lithium-Ion battery.

Lithium-ion batteries can be smaller or lighter, have a higher voltage and hold a charge much longer than other types of batteries. Each type of Li-ion battery requires a charger designed to accommodate its particular size. Your SmokeStik charger is designed specifically for the SmokeStik battery.
Lithium-ion batteries can hold a charge for many months. It is best to store a lithium-ion battery with a partial charge. Occasionally, a lithium-ion battery with a very low charge is stored for a long period of time (many months) and its voltage slowly drops to below the level at which its built in safety mechanism allows it to be charged again. If the battery is going to be stored for several months it's a good idea to take it out and recharge it after a few months.
L-ion batteries start degrading as soon as they leave the factory. This is simply the nature of the chemical technology in all L-ion rechargable batteries. Laptop or cell phone batteries may last two or three years from the date of manufacture whether you use them or not. This is because they are not being asked specifically to produce HEAT. Heat is what creates the vapor. So it is normal and expected for your SmokeStik battery to slowly lose it's puff count longevity. The more often you charge it the faster this will happen. So asking "how long should my battery last?" cannot be answered in terms of time. The lifespan of the battery is 250-300 charge cycles. This is the industry standard for ALL L-ion batteries. So if you have a SmokeStik that is 3 months old and "doesn't seem to hold a charge as long as it did when it was new"....this is completely normal. It is NOT defective and does not qualify to be replaced. If you have a SmokeStik battey that is 3 months old and will not hold a charge for at least 50 puffs.....it still is not defective....but may qualify to be replaced. Certainly if your SmokeStik battery does not "fire" at all.....no vapor is produced and the LED does not light up even when it has been charged.....if you have satisfied the terms of the Customer Loyalty program it will be replaced with your next order. If your SmokeStik battery fails within the first 30days after receiving it it will be replaced immediately. Below are a few facts and tips for prolonging the life of your SmokeStik.

  • They are extremely sensitive to high temperatures. Heat causes lithium-ion battery packs to degrade much faster than they normally would. Do not leave them in your car, exposed to direct sunlight or sitting on top of another hot electrical device.
  • If you completely discharge a lithium-ion battery, it is ruined. The best time to charge your SmokeStik is BEFORE it goes completely dead. A drop off in flavor and vapor is the hint that it's time to charge the battery. However the SmokeStik DOES have a feature programmed in to it to shut itself off before it is completely discharge....the light will blink repeatedly and then it will no longer function until it has been recharged. It is still better to charge before this happens.
  • A lithium-ion battery pack must have an on-board computer to manage the battery. This makes them even more expensive than they already are. There may be cheaper e-cig batteries out there but they will not give the same performance of a SmokeStik. The "Starter Kit" is just that.....everything you need to get you started and to let you find out if you are going to enjoy and want to keep using the product. If you are going to keep using the product on a regular, daily basis it is recommended you purchase extra batteries. If you do not you may find yourself in the situation of needing to have a battery replaced and having to get by with one battery while you wait for your new one.
IF you think your SmokeStik battery has a problem please do call the Customer Service dept for help diagnosing your particular issue. Several other unrelated issues can mimic a "bad battery"....a malfunctiong charger, a under performing cartomizer or atomizer, or even a bad USB port on your computer. Our customer service reps are all specifically trained to help figure these issues out.
