So I am not sure but I think the burnt taste is coming from my SMOOV battery. I am using a vapeonly 2.2 ohm coil same with my evod and my aspire all 2.2 coils and brand new. With my no brand name basic battery. Tastes great but with my smoov, nasty. Should I be using a better type of wick?

I have no experience with the "Smoov" battery you speak of, but I did read a bit of information about it. Apparently, it is a 5 volt battery with internal ("Guardian Micro Chip") 3.7 volt regulation.
So yes, the battery could in fact be cause for a burnt taste, if the chip has failed and the device is delivering 5 volts... which is about 1 volt more than what one would normally use with 2.2Ω coils.
