So who has tried high voltage vaping with a 401?

I built a Cisco Lazer mod for a M401 it suppose to be 3.7v but feels more like 5v have no idea why (probebly the construction of the lazer pointer).

Hmm.. Do you think it has something to do with the fact that the 401 batts, at least mine, only run at 2.8v fully charged?

3.7 - 2.8 = 0.9v
5.0 - 3.7 = 1.3v

It stands to reason that since the voltage difference is similar the performance differences should be close as well. I guess the 401 atty is just more efficient?

I'm about the pull the trigger on getting a mod myself, and I have a small pile of m401 attys that I'd like to use with it. I too have noticed that the m40x batts run at 2.8v... so...

I've been wondering if it would make any sense to put a single 3v (not 3.7v) battery in my mod for use with my small pile of m401 attys? The goal being to replicate the vaping performance of the regular m40x batts, but with much longer battery life.

From reading this thread and others, I'm glad to see that these attys can take 3.7v, but I'm wondering if a 3v batt will also work... can a 3v batt provide enough amperage... and based on what others have found, does that configuration work in practice?
