If you run a Social Group here @ ECF and you need some help...

Post the link to your Group here... and I will contact you...

This thread isn't for questions, it's just to make me aware of who may need some guidance with their Group.

Even if you have been running one for a long time,, but feel you haven't used all the features available feel free to post here as well.

Note if you don't have a group check this link out:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/forum-how-tos/113964-how-create-social-group.html#post1731118

once you get one started and have some membership post your link here as well (if you so desire)

Got a member who I may want to remove from the member list and it maybe permanent.
Can this be done? And how?

    I sent a PM.

I have one "unapproved group message" that for the life of me, I cannot find and approve.

How do I add addl mods (with privileges)?

    thanks!

I see you found where to add moderators to your social group. The moderated message is on page three of your listings.

That was done when he was a moderator before. The previous moderator took him off. I listed him where it said to list moderators, but still I have not been able to assign privileges. Can you tell me how to do that?

also, I still have one pending unapproved group discussion that I am not able to get rid or by approving.

    thanks!

Moderators are assigned privileges by the system. A moderator can do anything the owner can except transfer ownership of the group or delete it.

he is a moderator just because I listed him in the moderators list. Apparently he has no privileges though. How do I assign those?

also, are you able to help me with the other issue?

    thanks for your time!

Looks like social group moderators got broken in the vbulletin upgrade. I'll talk to the coders and see about getting that fixed.

    as for the moderated message:

    old soldier,

thanks for the help with the other issues.

Of course, now I have new questions. :)

How can I add the options of "likes" and quoting to my group forum?

    thanks, the ob.

whoops I thought I had replied already. the answer is you can't. Those features are not part of the social groups plugin. (sorry).

    ok,
    yet another question.

Is it possible for the mod group owners to post topics that have more than 1000 characters?

if not, what is the solution for this. I would like to post a FAQ type post. Please let me know when you get a chance. thanks!

There are no special exceptions on post size for moderators, the maximum size is hard coded into the plugin. People run into the same situation on the forums as well (just the size limit is larger) one way to work around this is to "reserve" a couple posts by posing successively, then going back and editing the posts.

As a mod I am not able to delete a picture from our group pictures. I selected the picture, click remove from group, and confirm but the picture is still there. How can I delete it?

Sorry, I didn't get the PM/email when you posted here. You should see Edit Picture next to Remove from Group, there is a check box there to delete. Please try that method and if it doesn't work let me know.
