Yeah the bottle is sanded a bit to loosen it up lol, gotta silicone on the way. Mine had no ribbon so I just glued one to the magnet block.

If yours had no ribbon it meant it was from the v1 batch and probably a good thing you gutted it to add a direct contact as the button wasn't insulated. I have the black resin Ram and I am actually loving it for what it is (a budget squonk) and believe it or not it hits hard ! Harder then some of my direct contact squonks with copper and silver contacts. I'm still trying to figure that one out. A few of my single coil builds that are around a .16 and hit great on my other mech squonks are just too hot and too rowdy on the Ram some weird black magic voodoo going on in there maybe I just need to polish the contacts on my other boxes.... Anyways my experience has been great so far albeit I am only 48hours in !!!

My switch was still isolated, it only had no ribbon. I just changed it out because it was too stiff for my personal preference. I Feel no need to change the 510, it still hits fine, no better or worse. I used only things I found around the house and garage. A piece of hard copper pipe cut and hammered for the contact. Then the button is a carved up wire nut with a cap piece from a snap glued inside it. Came out decent enough for me considering it was made from random junk lol.

I'm running dual coils in a Goon 1.5 @ .35Ω using 26g Anarchist wire but it's not hitting as hard as I'd like. I'm not too sure about going much lower on a single battery but was thinking about trying .2Ω dual coils and see if that helps
Try 22g or 24g 316l ramps very fast on my single battery mechsquonk

If you have carbon built up from arcing at the switch, it will definitely affect performance.

I'll keep that in mind...thanks

Too early for that. Only had the mod a couple days. Anyway, before any oxidation occurs, the contacts will get a clean with deoxit red and then an application of deoxit gold to improve connectivity

Pretty nice rta, seen several reviews for it. Are you using coils or mesh in it?

I persisted with mesh for a while, but it was very unforgiving. The second it dried out even a little bit, the dry hit was awful. In the end I put in a ss316 spaced build and it was infinitely better. I'd go as far as saying it's one of the best RDA's I have now.

Yeah, I heard the dry hit was REALLY bad with the mesh, lol!!!! Cool idea, but you really have to use too much juice with the mesh. Might have to pick up one though cause it's an easy rta to set up.

FWIW, I have a Cthulhu Ceto and love it. I'm sure a burnt hit would be awful, but I've never had one. That's one of the major upsides of the big volume of wick. It holds so much juice in reserve that you get plenty of subtle warning of the wick drying. In that respect it performs more like a BF RDTA than an RDA. Much more consistency than your typical RDA.

That said, I've never found a Ceto mesh build I'm really happy with on a mech, even with a 30A continuous battery. Ramping a bit too slow and vapor a bit too cool. So for now the Ceto stays on my Dripbox 160 set at 90W. That's my only negative about Ceto/mesh so far.

I think being in a mech doesn't help. I packed a tonne of wick into the mesh and drowned it, but still had the occasional hideous dry hit. After using RDA's for years that I am more in tune with the subtle changes than I think.

I know...so...TRENDY.
I often will end up getting top quality stuff - but usually I'm a late-adopter. I waited like a year to enjoy a Goon. Heck, I just picked up a Hobo Drifter.
But this stuff - mods and RDA's - I just wanted them from the launch, so I dove in early.
Both setups vaping perfectly - really really nice - right from first build.
Need a better color ring tho.
