Don't know if this has been posted yet...

"Electronic/Smokeless Cigarettes on JetBlue
While the majority of electronic cigarettes may be non-hazardous, JetBlue does NOT allow the USE of them on any of our flights, but will allow them in checked or carry-on baggage. It is considered a nuisance item as small amounts of vapor are expelled from the cigarette." from Jetblue's help section

I used to be a heavy smoker and now I'm a heavy vaper but I don't miss it when I'm flying. I just did my annual Boston - Amsterdam - Nairobi run and the only time I regretted (a little) packing my equipment in my checked bags was at Schiphol because on the way to Kenya I had a five hour layover. I got over it by walking past their "smoking area" a few times for some residual nicotine. Have you ever seen that thing? It's a booth with plexiglass walls and you can barely see the people from all the smoke! I swear the plexi walls are to give the smokers the feeling they're on display like animals in a cage. In a way I guess they are and I felt bad that they don't know freedom from ridicule is just an e-cig away.

I used to pass through that airport a lot years ago before they banned smoking in it. I loved the big comfy chairs right outside the casino, along with the fairly easy-to-spoof-into wifi internet which I'm sure they've shored up a little better since the last time I went through.
I use the non-stop Kuwait-Dulles late-night flight now and never go through there anymore.

Stealth vaping tip: Inhale as normal, then before exhale, take another breath as deep as you can through your nose. Magic!

Wow... never even thought of that. this single post needs to be stickied!

has anybody carried vv bottom feeders on board?
juice bottle with liquid inside is probably not allowed right?

At Frankfurt Airport there are similar plexi booths with text: Camel Smoking Room
Ever tasted a smoked camel?

The second deep breath and through the nose does not work with a Chuck at 6 volts.
I would have to hold my breath at least for 15 seconds.

Anyway...I do not believe what happened to me...I was stealth vaping on a flight the other day, and suddenly realized that a small child was staring at me through the seat crack.
I had better write a new version of my stealth vaping "How to vape on planes with overly curious children on board"

I went through the Frankfurt airport a few years ago and got a chuckle out of the Camel smoking room right next to the sex shop that had pictures of "marital aids" plastered all over the windows!

That's too funny!...and it's amazing how much you can see thru the cracks between the seats

It's interesting to read some of the stories/experiences - I'm still new to vaping so I've not had the opportunity on a plane yet. I am old enough to remember actually smoking on planes though; not jonesing for nicotine.

I have however stealth-vaped in some classroom settings (w/pen-style 510T) with no issues - same shorter slow draws, extended exhales - it works ok (the sole purpose, to get the nicotine and not blow clouds). Try it - right from where you are now.. it can be done.

In a post 09/11 world though - it'd have to be an extended flight (i.e., international or transcontinental) to feel the real need/desire (that's my story now anyway).

I'd think any stealth vaping scenario might be a good time to dust off something just a tiny bit smaller. ;)

I just got back from a trip and I stealth vaped on the plane. On the flight out, it was daytime (harder to be inconspicuous), so I mostly relied on snus. I'm a nervous traveler, though, so I still grabbed a couple quick puffs at the seat and hit the bathroom once for a short vape session. My flight home was at night (and I had a window seat), so it was a lot easier to vape in my seat. No one noticed and I barely exhaled any vapor. What little I did exhale, I blew towards the floor and it was gone almost instantly. Stealth vaping isn't as satisfying as regular, sitting-in-my-house vaping, but it certainly helps a nervous traveler like me.

I agree that stealth vaping is less satisfying than normal vaping.
One reason is that you cannot take multiple puffs and exhale in between puffs as you normally would.
It has to be one "long button press", then the "stealth exhale".
Another problem with stealth vaping is dosing the liquid without seeing the drops.
Too much liquid on a plane would require an atomizer blow out or draining. At home this is easy.
Too little liquid could be dangerous for the long duration of the single puff needed.

Vaped through an entire hockey game at GM Place in Vancouver the other night (they shoot smokers on site in Vancouver)...what really killed me was the lady sitting beside me ranting on to her husband about these young girls that where just openly smoking in the bathroom, like, where is the security in this place!

Just about blew the stealth when she said that, lmao

I remember the old trick of going to the bathroom and blowing the smoke/vapor down the drain becuz the toilet and sink drain vacuum the water straight out.
Thats why the sink and toilets drain are closed to start with, and you have to open them up to suck the water down/out....and I guess it works for smoke or vapor too,it just gets sucked right out of the bathroom cabin.
I actually havent tested it myself...but I have had friends SWEAR by this technique.
So if you go to the bathroom to stealth vape...why not go the one extra step to make sure you dont set the smoke alarm off by just blowing the vapor down the drain on each "drag".....as long as it gets sucked straight out,you can take as big a "drag" as you want without fear of a big cloud of vapor triggering the smoke detector.

You don't need to go though all of this, as long as you are not blowing or smoking close to the detector the vape should dissipate before triggering a alarm.
Funny thing is (Yes tried and it worked) when International went non-smoking in the mid 90's, it was a known amongst frequent travelers and FA who smoked, that if you used a feminine napkin provided in the lav and stuck it to the smoke detector then pulled the plug from the sink and smoked low by the sink it would not set it off.

I stealth vaped with the reo mini the ENTIRE way back from Vegas Vapefest to Houston. I just blew the vapor onto my shirt sleeve. It was an early night flight arriving in Houston around 9pm, so the lights on the plane were off. Nobody said anything.......i'm wondering if the entire plane smelled like AVE HYPE, & I was the only one to not realize it. :)
