Steam Engine "Leg Length"

Messing around with Steam engine trying to achieve a 1.2 ohm ish build with 28 G Kanthal.

I get the inner diameter stuff. That's easy. What I don't get is Leg Length? How can I know that BEFORE building the coil since I'll be snipping the leads?

How do you know what your total length of coil will be for Leg Length?

Good question.I never touch the default setting and my coils always come out nearly bang on my target if that helps.

It's the leg length from the coil to the post, not what gets cut off after the post.
I just leave the default 5mm.
With a super low build, you may want to be more accurate.
