Do any of you experience dry hit from long drag with subtank mini plus RBA? How do you solve this problem?

I have been getting dry hit from a 4-5 sec drag, spaced ~2.4mm coil @ 0.5ohm, about 20w only, using Rayon cotton.
The strange thing is that it seems dry hitting only on one side?

Pancake wicking fixed my dry hit issues. Give it a try.

tried the pancake wicking just now... first attempt, probably too less rayon as i get a lot of spit back... second attempt, i use more rayon at the tails, spit back is less but still there and i have to up the watt to 32w or so, but the flavor is strong and warm which i like, i got quite some nic buzz after a couple drags, do I still need more rayon at the tails to eliminate the spit back?

I have found my favourite coil build for the Subtank.

1.7 ohm, Twisted 32awg coil.

The first picture is a 1.7 ohm coil that I wanted to switch out (every week).
It was working great, but thought I could improve it.

AND I Have.
I found that if I build a tighter coil I get a better vape with this build.
Still 1.7 ohm, twisted 32awg coil

I use this build on top of my MVP2.0 or my iTaste134. So no mega power is needed. :D
Depending on the juice I hit this coil between 8W and 12W.
Usually I find 10W (4.1V @ 1.7ohm) is where I find it works best for most of my juices & flavours.
I find this build gives me the best vape... it is thick and flavourful without being too hot.

Why does your Kanger tank head have those grooves in the bottoms of it? I've got the subtank mini and I need to find out where I can get a bigger version of it.

I have 2 Kanger sub-tank minis running at all times. Love having two flavors. Been using the same basic build for 9 months. 22ga. single wire and/or 26ga. twisted wire. Both are built using 3ml 4 wrap with coil jig. I use only "Cotton Bacon" to wick with. They always come in at around 0.04 ohms. I fire em at 30w to 36w depending on juice. I use 70/30 vg/pg and some 80/20 vg/pg. Best flavor, clouds, and satisfaction guaranteed. Happy vaping trails my friends.

Just started vaping and built my first coil for my kangertech subtank mini, went with 28g Kanthal A1 and made a twisted coil because I didn't want to make a basic coil as my first, had a little bit of spitting so moved the wick about and put a tiny bit extra in to stop it flooding, now vaping at 20w/0.7ohms and very happy with my first build

My build (first coil build on any rba ever. .25mm Kanthal 5/6 wraps, turned out 1.9ohms. Not bad for the first. Made it too fat though so the airflow isn't amazing.

Hey! someone else with a Kangertech Subtank on an Eleaf iStick. Nice to see.

Why does everyone's RBA decks look bigger than mine? I couldn't imagine using some of these because of issues I had with contacting the barrel, and the sheer lack of room in my own Kanger Subtank Mini (is it because it's the mini?)
