I decided for TC it was time to stop cutting corners and ordered an SX Mini M

I seriously doubt you will be getting Quality TC in a sub $100 mod that will actually hold up for some time to come.

Even the Best TC mods available are tremendously dependent on user build capabilities and understanding.

I wholeheartedly disagree. All the chips cost the same regardless of what they charge for tHem. Some people are just going to feel really stupid paying $150 plus for what people can get from $35-60. Evic Vt, even with its minor issues, is a far better bargain than the sx or DNA for a third the cost and performs within a very reasonable tolerance of the high dollar mods

If you're just looking for a low priced TC mod, them I'd say yes to this, or the Evic VT, or the Invader Mini.

I've been enjoying the Evic VT, although I haven't used the TC much. I also own 2 Eleaf istick 20W, 2 istick 30W and a istick 50W with no issues with battery or board, just the crappy 510 on the 20Ws ;)

If you're just looking for something in the 40W range, there's the new Innokin Disrupter coming very soon that's getting fantastic reviews, as well as the new WISMEC Presa with an innovative switch.

I'll probably pick this up. There's a few good sneak peak reviews on YouTube if you guys want to check it out. I've never really had a problem out of my 50w unlike a decent amount of people, so hopefully this one will work pretty well. I normally vape between 22-35 watts anyways, so this looks to be a good back up.

Now only if the r-dna40 would go on sale for less than $80 :p

I dunno what a Person needs to spend to get a Good TC Mod? Or what Mods are supposed to Work Better than Others?

But I bought one of these...

$45.47 Kangxin Mini VF KX-50D Temperature Control 50W VW MOD - 1-50W / 1*18650 / aluminum alloy / black at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

... And it Does Everything that I want it do. ie: Prevent Dry Hits. )Feels good in My hand Also!)

Now Maybe I got the Only good Mini VF that Kangxin ever made? Or Maybe the Next time I push the Power Button it will Explode in a Deafening Roar of Searing White Hot Flames?

But I have been using it Everyday for about the last 6 Weeks. And So Far - So Good.

---

Note: I am Not Recommending that Anyone Buy a Kangxin Mini VF. And if you Buy one and Don't Like it, don't send me Hate Mail. Only say'n that I own a <$100 TC Mod. And I like it.

My everyday setup away from the house is an iStick 50w, RDA, and 18ml of liquid. That would hold me for several days if necessary. I want the comfort of 4400 mah of power. The way to get that in a single battery mod is one where the battery is replacable. So I've got a Kangxin mini on the way. (We'll see how that goes.) If 2600 mah is sufficient I'm sure the 40w will be splendid.

Maybe we skipped the stop cutting corners part. :)
Iv'e got plenty of sub @$100 mods...... Most are sub $50 and all have done as advertised.
Dozens of Mechs under $30:lol: and all good mods.

Now, looking at the list of features offered in the SX mini, the 1yr warranty, the Upgradeability(already 2 updates) instead of buying the next firmware released and you can see where the SX is much like the lower cost mods........over time.

Don't get me wrong, I love my IPV mini2, trashed paint job and all. My (2) eVics have served me faithfully for a couple of years now and only cost me $37ea.

Would I do the same with a Provari or even a DNA device...........Nope, but I see this mod as a viable product that should offer what I expect to need for the next several years.

I can't say the same for my other mods. I take care of my gear and haven't had anything just Break............but f I need it to I can always hand it to my wife to use. She could break plate glass windows tossing Marshmallows.

I too want to get a temp control something before doomsday and I have been looking at that Kangxin Mini for some time now. The one thing that has kept me off buying it is that in the discussions of FT everyone was making fun of that LED "wart" on the top.:) I was waiting for Kangxin to come out with version 2 perhaps, and getting rid of it. Do you find it annoying?
