You got it ! the pin goes through both parts , make sure it is TIGHT so it will not come apart again , Sorry but every once in a while small things slip by .

My buzz pro bottom cap just did the same that slow talkers did but i dont see a pin i have the bottom metal cap, the delrin screw section, a spring, a nut and a screw. i put everything back together it works but when i unscrew the cap from the buzz pro it just comes loose again. am i missing a part? will the all chrome bottom cap work with this model?
Yep, sounds like you lost the little pin. It lines up the 2 holes in the delrin and the bottom to make them turn together. Wish I could remember where 5C posted his diagram. And I'm pretty sure that the chrome bottom cap will fit, altho you may lose some function of the on/off feature.

i guess i will order a new cap on payday. the good news is i can tighten the parts i have and screw it in place just cant turn it off and have to reassemble each time i change out the batts

Found the pics I was talking about, I'm a "take it apart to see how it works" girl lol You can see the holes where the pin fits in the delrin and the metal part in the assembly pic, but the pin isn't shown in that one.

My brass bottom delrin cap is working fine but don't see a metal pin like in picture only see a slitted hollow delrin material looking pin and can see thru hole next to screw is this the way it's suppose to be?
Hmm Dale, I don't have the delrin bottom cap to look at. The pic I posted was taken by someone else.
More curious than anything else Bov,I mean its working fine just doesn't look like a pin in there.
It is a split pin , so it has a small hole in it , this allows them to be pressed into the metal part .
On my brass, it is a little hollow brass tube, it sticks out just slightly compared to the main cap.
Well I hope it is LOL. If it quits working I guess we'll know! Wonder if one could put a drop of stupid glue on the pin before you put it in the delrin piece?
