Whys it come with a brass deck no matter the color? Looks pretty 1:1 to me otherwise with the posts & screws from what I can tell. Pick one up if you want, just see if they come with stainless decks as well because upkeep on brass/copper is a PITA on an atty/deck. She'll patina real quick with the amount of heat being tranferred and most of that is going to happen on the inside of the atty.
@Mrez congrats! You finally got some aliens down! Try this: have all 3 ends secured in the swivel, but make sure they're all equal tension and secure them all at the same time. Also, use tape in the middle & at the end of the length of cores to ensure they stay parallel. You can either slide the tape (while holding tension on the cores, use your finger nails to kinda get under the tape and slide it towards the swivel) in the middle up once you reach that spot with the wrap or you can skip right over it and use it as a marker to start a length for coil number 2.
Oooooo, great idea for the velocity. Beautiful coil slip...wow. I bet the flavor is intense.

What's in the middle of that monster alien? Ribbon cores?Hey Wharf
Yes it has great flavour bud, it is a 24g Alien, 1/8th id @ 0.15ohm in the Temple rda(30mm), is the first time i tried 24g in an alien, i'm running rayon wick through it, ive never known a build to guzzle juice like this thing
Quick question for everyone out there. I want to do a framed staple alien with around 5 or 6 strips of .4 ribbon and 28ka1 or 5 or 6 strips of .5 ribbon and 26ka1. The question is what do I wrap on to make the decored Clapton? I would assume 24g for the 26ka1 framed staple and 26g for the 28ka1 framed staple. And do you need to stretch it more or less then a usual alien? Also any ideas of what the best would be for the framed staple? I don't want some crazy beastly coil but I do like a larger coils just not insanely large. Thanks for any advice.
So whatever my frame is I can do the Clapton in the same gauge to decore it? Another words if I did 6* .5 ribbon with 26g frames then I can wrap a Clapton and decore it with 26g. I just want to make sure I have a good chance in making it first try. I've gotten to a point where I can make aliens pretty easily with multiple gauges so I'm confident I can do it as long as I know the correct wires to start with. Thanks for the help.I always use 6x cores. 26x2 6x.5 or 28x2 .4x6 OG claptons are on a 26 or a 28 gauge depending on the variation I'm making. I tend to stretch my cores less, and let them stretch as I'm wrapping. It's a lot easier to alien a properly prepped framed staple due to not having any core twisting issues.

Start out with a 26g frame and either a 4x .4 or .5 staple. I say use 4 pieces of ribbon because it's going to come out relatively the same size as a 3 core 26g, .405mm on the frames 4ply .(width) X .1 - comes out to .400mm, so it's going to be a little bit easier to work with on your first frample alien. I'm waiting for my Kidney Puncher order to get to me, I have some .3mm coming in along with .2x.2mm square wire. I'm gonna go for the 30g/32g FSA & other fun thingsSo whatever my frame is I can do the Clapton in the same gauge to decore it?
