Ok thanks. I have .3mm and .5mm ribbon right now.
It's easier to practice with bigger ribbon. This is the lazy method, not the original method, but works just as good.
Cut about 3-5' of the .5x.1mm & put it in your drill chuck and hold the other end with nylon or toothless pliers and twist the ribbon. Clockwise or counterclockwise, whatever you're more comfortable with.
image.jpeg

What I like to do to stop the ribbon from spinning out of control after twisting is run my thumb and index finger gently from the chuck to the pliers & hold it loosely when I let go of the pliers.
You want the twists to be just a little bit smaller than the cores you're going to be using, so kind of eye it out above the cores by holding the middle of the twisted ribbon perpendicular to the cores like this:
image.jpeg
Generally after you check the size the first time you'll find that the twists are a little more spaced out than they should be so repeat the first step slowly so the wire twists some more.
image.jpeg

That's about the size the twists should be compared to the cores.
Next just take the ribbon out of the drill chuck, put your cores in & wrap the twisted ribbon slowly in the same direction that you twisted it.
I like to start off a little slow to get a feel for it but you should hear an audible click with each wrap. It's not like an alien where you need to angle the wrap forwards, I like to hold it at a 90° angle to the cores.
If you overlap, don't panic, ribbon is really forgiving. Just undo the wraps and rewrap it. Just make sure to be holding on to that ribbon tight & guiding it properly.
image.jpeg

Hope this helps!
Edit: @BrentMydland yeah that's the one. Is it a 22mm or 24mm?

Alright , so there's no confusion...
I AM A VAPORHEAD !! I love all things vaping... I am going on my 7th year vaping & I try everything I can get my hands on...I started with a Blu ecigs & my 1st real mods were a Silver Bullet, The Original Omega Mod from Altsmoke & a Provari . Before there were affordable RDA's, there were... Vision clearomizers, Boge 2.0's, the Resurrector XL ,the Liquinator Tank & etc.. (remember the K100 & the 1st matching Chinese RDA's) Every year it gets better & better and every year I look forward to all the new vaping gear & new styles of vaping. From exotic coils, oversized atties & extra powerful mods... I am a vaporhead to the bone & I wanna try it all...

I don't recollect ever saying I wasn't happy or satisfied with my setups. I keep like 6 or 7 setups in rotation & at all different ohms & builds. I have a Griffin RTA on 100w TC iStick .6 ohms & 54w, a Cherry Bomb V2 Series box & a Buddha V2, with a fused Clapton, dual coil, .25 ohms... My Reuleaux RX200 & 30mm Ohmega RDA, with 4 strand twisted 28g kanthal, Claptoned with .05 Ribbon wire "aka" my own style of Tiger wire, reading .8 ohms & hitting 8 voltso_O 100w iStick & Velocity RDA at .3 ohms, My REO with a .2 ohm coil, my Nemesis/Hobo V3.1 with a .15 ohm coil, my Noisy Cricket/Indestructible RDA, .28 ohm build & etc & so on... Now I'm pretty good at making simple coils & builds...like parallels, Claptons, fused Claptons, braided 3 & 4 strands, twisted & so on. I'm just trying to learn how to make more complicated builds, like Aliens, Stapled, Framed Staples & real coil art type builds & yadda, yadda, yadda... I love the best of both worlds when it comes to clouds & flavor, but flavor is the most important component, if I had to choose...

I'm not exactly looking for anything, I just want to try everything there is to try, about vaping... I figure, in order for me to decide what coil builds, mods or atties I like best... I gotta try them all, don't I ?? Vaping is growing, at an amazing rate and I honestly haven't tried them all. I come on this thread & see all the fantastic coil builds (I have no idea, how to make) and wonder, how do they taste ?? How dense is the vapor production ?? What atomizer could accommodate it ? Or How many watts does it need, to vape best ?? Yeah, I know... When it comes to vaping, I'm ALL over the place, I have no real favorite & I love it :p:D Its 1 of the things about vaping, that I love so much... There's always more to learn, be it a new build, a new RDA or a new way or style of doing it...At the moment I'm really enjoying Series boxes & 30mm RDA's with exotic builds. All I've tried is 18650 series boxes, but I have a Hammer of God v2 on its way & I'm on the lookout for a 26650 series box. I enjoy my Griffin RTA quite a bit & I just recently got my grubby little fingers on a pair of 30mm RDA's... The Buddha Z v2 clone & an Authentic Ohmega RDA, that I really like building on. And since they look great on box mods & I don't have to rock it on a 26650 mod... Yeah, I think I'd enjoy a 30mm tank... When I was smoking cigarettes, I was held down to 1 brand for over 30 yrs.. Vaping allows me the room & space to try a variety of vaping gear, techniques & styles. So my bad, I wasn't aware that I was supposed to set limitations on my vaping habits....lmao:lol::pervy: Once smoking was no longer an issue for me, I've been growing right along with the vaping industry, for the last 5-6yrs & I have no desire to limit my vaping to anything specific... I love all things vaping & whatever's clever, that has flavor, dense vapor production, affordable & has potential... 9 times out of 10... I'll be placing an order...lol:cool::D

All good Mistaree, was just checking.

By all means if you want to try them all, hell I did also 2 years ago. But that came to a stop real quick when I was buying really cheap RDA's. :-x

But when I need to cloud chase I can revert and bring them out, but lately been above 1.0 ohms.

Vape On!!!!! :vapor: Have fun. Just got confused on what you were trying to achieve. Usually people ask for coil types, build type, but now I see you come and speak your mind. All good!!!!!:rickroll:

I thought it was 24 but I just checked again and it's 22. Surprised they managed to fit four 2.5mm x 2.8mm post "holes" in there side by side. Cheap for an authentic too.

@Tom Forde awesome, thanks allot!

On another topic, I've got to reorder some wire and I remember you guys bringing up coil society. I love kp wire but cs have pretty good prices, should I just stick with kp? Any suggestions..
Coil Society wire serves me just fine. I ordered their N80 ribbon, .3x.1mm, .5x.1mm, 36g, 38g, 40g, etc. Amazing pricing. Ribbon prices make it worth it. What I do is spread my wire out among all 3 sites, coil society, LV & KP. LV for .4x.1mm/.8x.1mm & odd gauge ka1, KP for .6x.1mm & square wires.

Thanks... G-Wheezy, from 1 vaporhead 2 another... :rolleyes:I thought it takes 1 to know 1:shock:but I can understand sometimes I act like a noob, but make NO mistake about my ECF Super Member Status:eek:
LOL..I kinda like any Authentic RDA's under $50 bucks, but then who wouldn't ?? But I try to balance my Authentic/Clone RDA's & it seems Authentic mods are too plentiful to be spending more than $150 as of late...So my $50 monthly budget is still way cheaper than smoking.:thumb:The 1st few years of my vapor career was spent on getting all the heavy smokers in my family to vape. Some didn't mind trying, others weren't gonna do it unless I supplied the 1st setup...:(:mad:but nonetheless, I've gotten just about all my family & friends vaping,(except 1)so now at family functions, you'll find all the vapers in a corner, comparing each others gear & try'in to see who can blow the biggest, thickest clouds...:pLOL AnyHoo, here's a collage of a few of my latest builds. Like I said, I have no issues with simple wire builds, but anything more than a fused Clapton, I'm lost... At any rate, my daughter's baby shower is coming up June 4th & since we're expecting a lot of family/friends... I'd like a good competition, award winning setup, bcuz I'm the teacher & I'll be damned, to have any1 :censored:come in my house blowing bigger clouds than me.. :cool:Nope, we can't have that, so I have a month to learn some new tricks...A good coil build, that has dense vapor production & mouth watering flavor... Hmm I can think of a few coil builds that might work, but I'm still learning the craft. I got a good drill, hopefully enough wire & a month's worth of time to get it right. Actually, I'm expecting a belated b'day gift, but I don't wanna jinx it..So No Worries, I'll be sure to post pics & act a vaping fool when I get it

I think Series Box Mods, go great with 30mm RDA's... My Buddha v2 goes great with my Cherry Bomb v2. I just wish the voltage drop wasn't so drastic... But I'll find something to go on top of the HOG V2
I have on the way & I hope I find 1 soon...The VCMT tank looks like it might be a winner:thumbs:So now the question is... Where can I get 1 & How much will it cost me ?? I might have to dig a little deeper than $50, but my only concern is.... Would it worth it ??

Thanks to @Tom Forde for this amazing coil that saved my theorem for me. Can't wait to try the other two in my Aeolus Lite.

Completely unedited post fire shots. Using a 20x macro lens on my iPhone 6.

I can't wait to see pics of the install on the Aeolus lite. Try getting some pre-fire pics & color them!

I wonder what the three of these would have cost on some of those websites that sell coils...

...There's another atty made by Cthulhu mod's I saw the other day, don't quite know what it's called but it has a similar deck set up as the goon...

Answered by Brent

I think you are thinking of the shuriken. Similar deck to the goon but one screw clamp instead of two. I think its got 2+ mm on either side of the screw as well.

Ordered one today. Will post up what I think of when I get a build on it if anybody is interested. Reviews are sparse to say the least.

...But I'll find something to go on top of the HOG V2...

Have you considered the Alliance Fat Boy RDA by Fogwind and Vapergate? I have it's little brother the Big Boy...and it's awesome.

Sorry I haven't been back with any other builds recently...been happy vaping with the run I did a while ago. Getting that itch again though.

Also, if anybody hadn't heard, and I didn't see it mentioned in the past few pages, LV is having a killer deal on wire, not clapton, through their Amazon store until Friday. Never mind, just noticed that G-weezy beat me to it (should've refreshed the page once I had caught up).

So I got my order from coil Society(36g n80, 40g n80, 44g n80, 46g n80, .3mm ka1, and .5mm n80) the quality doesn't seem terrible, but I really got used to the large spools from kidney puncher. As long as it comes off the spool easily I'm a happy camper, can't beat the price although I'll probably go back and forth from cs and kidney puncher just for the quality and large spools.

This was Saturday nights build, on my Buddha V2, 3mm id, 26g N80 &
.27 ohms sitting on my Cherry Bomb V2... I'm still waiting on my HOG V2 & I'm on the lookout for a good 30mm RTA. I figure I'll wait awhile to see what else comes out, but a 30mm tank is the only thing on my list, of vape gear to get, after that I'm done for awhile... Unless the BMF V2 comes out anytime soon, but I have enough atties & mods to last me, the rest of this year... Provided I don't break anything... Its been raining everyday since last Thursday, so I'm not too sure how much more rain I can take, but I'm hoping I can get some practice in today. I think I'm ready to try something new today
Happy Vapes Fellas !! Enjoy ur day...

I got some 316L the other day. This is only my 2nd build with the material. I did a mixed loose twist with 2x 26g 316L, 2x 28g N80, and 2x 30g K1. 2.4mm ID and ohms at 0.27.

I was hoping to get a range of colors by mixing the materials, but had a hotspot mid coil and by the time I got that out I'd blown through all the 316L colours. I'll try like this again soon.

So the FDA may want to ruin everything for us (exaggeration I know, but it's still gonna be pretty bad), but I will be damned if I let them stop me from doing what I enjoy in making awesome coils & new concepts.
Sorry for the lack of build pics lately, I've been busy with work and a few other things. Here's my latest concept, the ohm/less alien.
image.jpeg
image.jpeg
image.jpeg
For the concept I went 24g cores/30g wrap. Basically it's a 3 core alien, decored, and one core put back in. It raises the ohm significantly since it's not a triple core. You can even put 2 cores back in & have the resistance be higher than the typical 3 core. I'd say they're regulated mod safe, I need to make a few more in different gauges to see what they ohm out to. But they look awesome wrapped up and have SO much room to trap juice in.
Edit: @johntheshredder colors look good! Try lower wattages & longer pulses depending on what kind of coil you're making and gauges you're using. Like if that's a .19Ω coil, it's probably a slow heater. So pulse at lower wattages & go through the progression I showed with my pics.
