I came back to attempting the reef coil tonight. 0.5x0.1 N80 over 26g 316L. 2.4 ID (as usual) and reads 0.58 ohms in power mode / 0.24 ohms in temp mode. This coil is beastly in the STM. If I could do it over again I would go with a wrap, or two less in the coil just so it fits better. Took 30 min to get the hotspots out...

* Temp mode won't actually function. Just goes into temp protection right away for some reason. Any thoughts? *

Bent the screw in the foreground tightening this bish down. Hopefully I've still got a spare around.

Take some more shots of when you're coloring before you settle at blue. Builds look great though! And yes @RedheadedBStarD is right on the reef coil, it's much more twisted than Tsuka's. The final pattern before you coil up a reef coil should look like the ribbon is spiriling around the cores, almost as if it were a multistrand twisted wire.

Another reef coil. This one fused. 2x 26g 316L cores with 0.5x0.1 N80 wrap. 0.32 ohms with a 2.4mm ID. I stripped the wrap off the leads on this one and have no issues with temp control.

Sorry for the photo overload, but I was really happy with the coloration of this one.

Hey Fellas !!! Nice pics @ Redhead [emoji38]... So how has everyone been doing?? Great I'm sure... Well 8 days of rain had kinda taken its toll on me, as of late & 2 days of rest didn't do much good, since has been raining again [emoji24][emoji20]these past couple of days.. (sigh) Oh well, just as well talk about things I have control of... [emoji4]I did my 1st couple of Slentre Braided Coils this past wk & they came out pretty good. I practiced with 28g Kanthal, so of course it doesn't fit in anything I own, but I'm ready to try it with 32g N80 later on 2day, but I think I'm gonna switch it up a bit with a different pattern than what the videos an show how to do it & with 32g, I'm hoping it will fit in the 3mm post holes, most of my atties have... And yes I know, if I had a Goon atty it would of fit just fine...So I'm looking to get an Authentic,if I can find 1 on sale [emoji38]

I just picked up a Sony α Alpha 6000. I'm learning the camera but I'm still going to be making some crazy builds (that are vapable). Im not gonna slack on the builds and only focus on back drops like a couple people I know.

That is an AWESOME pic, Tom! What did you use for a lens?
Thanks bro, I actually used a Nikon coolpix L820 point and shoot for that lmao. I'm still learning the a6000, there's so much to learn and so little time I feel. I haven't even put the 30mm macro lens on the camera body yet. I'm learning more about aperture, f/ numbers, how to play with depth of field and lighting, shutter speed, etc. Been watching tutorials since I got it lol.
Edit: the Nikon I was using, for that pic, I think the f:4.8-f:5.0
