Hey all its that time again lol. I'm interested again in looking for another rda.

Currently rocking my buddies Alliance V2. And really liking it so far... almost enough to get a one for myself.

If anybody has suggestions that is similar to it I would like to hear it

My main thing I want is huge clouds and good flavor. I'm looking for an rda with a 4 hole build deck, and one that can rock the wide bore tips like this one.

For cloud and flavor it doesn't get much better than the Alliance imo.

The Sapor v2 is the first rda to get me to put down the Alliance. I don't worry about whether a chuff cap will fit. Most I like come with wide bore or chuff of some sort.

And I have gone thru a bunch of RDA's I have 10 or 12 high airflow styles. Kept coming back to the Alliance. I personally like the v1 better with the smallest airflow barrel. The barrel on my v2 whistles a bit.

I've replaced all my other RDAs with Troll V2s(4 + some spares). One device still has Twisted Messes Sq (V2) Perfect vape for me for clouds and flavor. Velocity styled deck, very deep too. Rarely remove top for dripping, just drip-n-vape through top cap/mouth piece. Good thing b/c the top cap is a bi*ch to get off n on. I don't hold that against them... just one of those things.

What about the 24 mm Goon by 528 Custom? While it is not a 4-hole design, it uses a nifty and simple two-post clamp system that is an absolute breeze to build on. It is extremely well built, and costs only $60.

I prefer the Goon deck over the Velocity-style deck that has become pretty ubiquitous amongst two-post RDA's. Many others prefer it as well -- the Goon has quickly become extremely popular with cloud chasers because of its ability to securely hold pretty much any build you can think of. Low gauge 4-strand twisted coils? Rock solid. Clapton coils, Clapton coils, dual fused Clapton coils, staggered fused Clapton coils, stapled helix coils. Rock solid. All rock solid, even with dual coil configurations.

But even though it was designed to handle just about any exotic build you throw at it, the clamp system does not limit you to just exotic builds. At the moment my Goon has a dual fused Clapton build (2 x 24 gauge Kanthal core, 34 gauge Nichrome wrap), but right before that, I had a simple 3.5 mm single strand 26 gauge Kanthal dual coil mounted on it, and thanks to the clamps, each were held securely, without any danger of cutting leads since you aren't tightening screws down into post holes.

Run a Google image search for "Goon RDA builds", or check out the Goon RDA thread to see the variety of builds this RDA is capable of.

Flavor is excellent as well, despite the large chamber and simple side airflow (3 x 3 mm air holes on each side, adjustable with a single-coil option).

It uses Kennedy style drip tips. The drip tip it comes with is a fairly wide bore but nothing huge. It is still plenty large enough to handle the airflow set wide open without adding any restrictions of its own. A chuff cap with an integrated super wide-bore drip tip is also available at a very reasonable price ($15 / on sale right now for $7.50).

The 24 mm Goon has quickly become my favorite RDA. I like it so much that I will be buying another one (or maybe even another two), so I can have Goons with different builds ready to go.

Anyone looking for an RDA that can chuck massive clouds while retaining excellent flavor, can handle anything from single microcoils to rather beastly exotic dual, is as easy to build on as a Velocity-style deck (and some say even easier), all at a very reasonable price, should definitely consider the 528 Custom 24 mm Goon RDA.

I have been happy with my Fishbone Plus from Cig Cloud. For easy builds, great flavors and solid clouds its great...if you tend to be a little rough on your gear then for sure skip the Fishbone and go with Mutation X 234 or Troll V2. My 2 cents...

even compare to 24 kennedy 2 post??
me myself on the market for new rda, still can't decide between 24 kennedy 2 post against goon 24.

Both are excellent. If you prefer bottom airflow than the Kennedy would be the obvious choice, while if you prefer side airflow than go with the Goon.

Personally, I prefer side airflow. I have several RDA's with bottom airflow, but my 24 mm Goon gives some of the best flavor I've ever experienced. My (bottom airflow) Magma clone is one of the few RDA's I've tried which gives about equal flavor as my Goon, but its airflow is extremely restrictive in comparison, so it does not do well with vapor production.

The Alliance V2 that you are using now is a side-airflow RDA, so if you are wanting something similar to it like you mentioned above, then the Goon would seem to be a better choice than the Kennedy. I've already went into some detail above why my 24 mm Goon quickly became my absolute favorite RDA so I won't repeat them again here, but there are good reasons why the Goon is one of the most popular RDA's on https://reddit.com/r/Coilporn.

It works just fine. Since I got my 24 mm Goon a few months ago, I've used plain round wire dual coil builds probably 80% of the time, usually a 24 gauge Kanthal, 9 - 10 wrap, 3.5 mm diameter. I use 3 mm or 2.5 mm in my other RDA's due to space limitations, but the Goon has plenty of room, and the larger diameter coil lets you use more cotton, which means it will wick juice better than smaller diameter coils.

The other 20% of the builds I have put on my Goon were mostly twisted 26 or 28 gauge builds. I did try a few Clapton coils too, but I was running low on wire, so standard builds with the occasional twisted build were the norm.

I did just recently order a large amount of wire, so I've been running with some more exotic builds lately, but the Goon still works great with simple builds as well. The clamp system is flexible with coil width since the coil legs don't need to line up with a post hole like on other RDA's. If it's wide enough to clear the innermost clamp screws (around 6 mm), you don't even have to bend your leads outwards to get it mounted and centered.

It will also securely hold the leads regardless of the thickness of the wire. I've run everything from a simple 30 gauge single coil to a dual 3-strand twisted 24 gauge core / 30 gauge wrap wire Clapton build (which is some pretty thick wire), and everything was held securely in the clamps. There's also little chance of breaking the wire when tightening since the clamps are a large flat surface with just a small bevel at the edges (so the clamps will lift themselves when inserting the coil leads). RDA's with post holes, even if they have flat-bottom screws, still can break wire (especially nickel which is so soft), since the tightening forces are concentrated on a much smaller area.

Obviously, I absolutely love my 24 mm Goon. But some people still do prefer normal post holes. So it would be better if you are able to check out a Goon locally before you buy just to be sure. But even if you can't, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
