Dear ECF Community,

We are writing to ask for your support for another one of our own facing the fight against Breast Cancer. And what a great season it is to give, to do a good deed, and to and make a difference in someone’s life.

Vintagecharm (Coralie Driscoll), is a supporting member of ECF and a regular on the Art Glass Drip Tips thread. We recently celebrated her one-year veteran anniversary on ECF. On November 20, 2012, she found out that she has stage II breast cancer. She had a follow up appointment on Monday, November 26, where her doctors scheduled her for a lumpectomy on Friday, November 30, 2012, followed by subsequent chemo and radiation treatments.

Vintagecharm has worked as an Assistant Care-Worker, providing home care for the mentally (autistic) and physically disabled (quadriplegic) patients. She is a naturally caring and giving person who has made a career of improving the lives of her patients, of which she has many favorites. In fact, she insisted on completing her care of several patients despite learning of her own condition. Oftentimes she takes her italian greyhound doggie girl Porche to work with her to help patients ovecome their fear of dogs. She is working until November 29, the day before her surgery. Amidst this shocking development, on November 23, 2012, Vintagecharm’s only daughter informed her that she is pregnant. Vintagecharm does not want to burden her daughter at this delicate time.

We are trying to raise enough money to help Vintagecharm manage her 40% share of the medical expenses and prescription costs, and hopefully enough to hire a temporary home health aide to take her to and from her chemo and radiation appointments. Our deepest hope is that we can lift enough of the financial burden off her shoulders so that she can focus on getting well and being healthy for the arrival of her first grandchild.

To that end, we have created a donation page for Vintagecharm at YouCaring.com at the following link: The Coralie Driscoll Fund. Her page became active on Sunday, November 25. Clicking on my signature banner below will take you to the site where you can make donations via PayPal or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, or your bank card). These donations are gifts and are not tax deductable. YouCaring.com does not charge a processing fee. Their mission statement is to deliver as much of the funds to the beneficiaries as possible. However, clicking on “GIVE” will open a page where you may choose to donate a 5% processing fee, less, or even zero. Please feel free to select zero – YouCaring.com is funded through angel investors and private donations. Please be aware that the credit card companies will deduct their processing fees from the donated amount.

We had to put in a goal amount, but whether we reach that goal or not, donations of any amounts will help and will be deeply appreciated.

Thoughts and prayers are also welcome. Please stop by Vintagecharm’s donation page and leave your thoughts and prayers and/or words of encouragement in the comment section.

Thank you for caring and thanks in advance for donating if you can. Best wishes to you for all the blessings of the season.

Sincerely,
Friends of Vintagecharm
