That's pretty cool.

They make this stuff for welding, it's called thermal paste and/or cold paste. It a paste that you apply to the metal and it keeps the metal surrounding the weld from changing colors. There are infinite possibilities you could do with designs or keeping the logo it's origional color, etc...

Edited to add... it's pretty effective on stainless when the weld pool reaches temps of +/- 5000 deg, so I would have to believe it would work great at much lower temps when a propane tourch is used.

just torched my aga rda, gunna give it a second go i find that two times brings out the colors better.
this is how its looking right now, ill post another picture after round 2 on the rda
