These are only for the joyetech eGo's. (clones or knockoffs could have any, all or none of these features. joyetech only makes the 650, 900 and 1000mAh batts. If it's 1100 or 1300 or 1500 - as of this date, Jan 2014 - it isn't a Joye batt):
eGo-t - it had better short and charge protection than earlier eGos. Earlier Joye eGos had none of these features.
eGo-c - it has better short and charge protection than the eGo-t. It has a changing led button from white to light blue to dark blue as the charge runs out. Nice for when you're going out - go out on 'white'. It has a 5click on/off function.
eGo-t2 upgrade (aka eGo-t upgrade and so stated on the batt) - it has the same short and charge protection as the eGo-t, but not as good as the eGo-c. It has two modes of operation - regulated at 3.4v constant (white led) and unregulated at 3.7V which goes through the normal 3.7V curve - @4.2V off the charger, 3.6-3.7V for most of the charge falling to 3.2V at the end. (orange led for that mode). The eGo-t2 upgrade has no changing led button regarding charge. It has a 5 click on/off feature.
eGo-c2 upgrade (aka eGo-c upgrade) - it has the top short and charge protection, the two mode operation as above and a changing led button from white to light blue to dark blue as the charge runs out. It has the 5 click on/off feature. And it is a few mm longer than the others, likely from the added protection.
Joye eGo-c Twist has the same short and charge protection as the eGo-c and eGo-c upgrade batts. It has the 5 click on/off feature. No changing led for charge and runs from 3.2V to 4.8V variable by dialing it in with the bottom dial.
Joye eGo-t upgrade and eGo-c upgrade passthroughs - have the same features as the t or the c upgrade batts respectively, and have the ability when in the unregulated (orange led) mode and always hooked up, to vape at close to 4.0-4.1 Volts almost all the time - ymmv depending on regular vs. power vaping but when hooked up the battery keeps the charge at the top rather quickly. You can tell when you stop vaping how quickly the charging light on the batt goes off. Also has the 5 click on and off and the same protection as the letter indicates - "t" - good, "c" best.

The difference between Joyetech eGo-T 2 upgrade battery and Joyetech eGo-C 2 upgrade battery: eGo-C 2 battery has more intensified short circuit protection.
Also the T2 upgrade doesn't have the changing button led from white to blue as you lose charge. (and neither does the original eGo-t. )
Joyetech on the eGo-c (non-upgrade) batt:
"Special features of Joye eGo-C battery: The Joye eGo-C battery is a new power display battery.
The battery LED displays different colors when the battery power changes.
It has strengthened short circuit protection and over discharge protection based on eGo-T batteries
and there is a device inside to prevent overcharging."
We've had one incident here of a true Joye eGo-t exploding and ruining a kitchen floor - no injuries. Joyetech found out about this through the customer and this forum and replaced the battery and fixed the customers floor.
We've had our techies attempt to blow up eGo-c batts in every extreme way possible and they were unable to do so. The battery just died. Once the short protection on the eGo-t is blown - there's a possibility that the next short may be a problem. Not so with the eGo-c - again, it just dies. I've never had a Joye eGo-c or eGo-c upgrade batt get hot or even warm during charging. I've had other manufacturers "eGo-type" batteries get very hot and die on the charger. ymmv. I still never leave any charging battery on overnight or when I am away.
