"it has good marketing support" - suuuuure they do. The #1 question in this forum is "what do I buy" seems to me if that is good marketing support they might want to find a new marketing company.

Smoke Nazis are smoke Nazis, it doesn't matter the how or why they are blinded by all reason. I smoked for 30 years and have not had an analog in a month and have no desire to have one. This woman should be jumping for joy, not complaining. grrrrr:evil:

Short interview because she's on her way to the bank to cash that check from RJ Reynolds.

I don't really think thats fair. Members of the ERS are the ones that would suggest not breathing the air in LA, they are all respiratory specialists. While the Vienna study was slightly lopsided, it is a step in the right direction. We all know that there exists a need for more short/long term studies of what vaping does to the body. Not too long ago (when there were no medical studies to refute) people thought smoking was harmless. It wasn't until scientific studies proved smoking was bad, and linked it to upper respiratory disease and cancer.

Noone is telling you to quit, it's your body and you can do with it as you like. We all (well a clear 90% of us anyway) smoked and knew it was bad. Vaping obviously isn't gonna turn your willy into a raisin or make you have a 3 headed baby on the short term, and it is better for you than smoking as far as we can tell from our impromptu beta testing (yay being guinea pigs), but in the long run noone knows and I don't think its fear mongering or anything close to it to be curious and test.

Just my 2 cents, been watching threads for a while now and people tend to jump in and berate people cause thy don't like what they heard. Burying your head in the sand is just as bad as fear mongering in the long run.

Ugh. Where's the studies in controlled environments to back this up? Once they start doing proper research, double blind success testing from actual scientists she should be interviewed properly. Though judging by the way msm goes it'll just turn into a "Who's the loudest" like usual. She has the nerve to say that they don't know if it's less harmful than cigarettes? Why does it have to be so black and white?

I wonder what the respiratory resistances are of people who use saunas for 10 minutes are, or Alaskans who visit the tropics?

This stuff makes my blood boil sometimes.

All I know is I can breath again and I don't wake up every morning hacking up a lung.

I have researched the issue about whether these are bad for you after I had several friends tell me they were. I can't find anything that points to that fact. However there is a ton of research that shows what analogs do. I agree with the post that said the woman is cashing in her check from RJ Reynolds. The tobacco industry does not want the kind of competition they would get from the vaping community I am sure. Being a nurse practitioner, I researched this from people that have credibility - several articles from a pulmonologist stating no way vaping can cause the kind of damage that analogs do. So I say vape away.....

Just to be clear I am a vaper and not saying don't do it. I smoked 2 PAD and pipes/cigars, and have cut down to a pipe every few days. It is a viable alternative, but I get a little miffed at all the conspiracy theories and head burying that happens because a person doesn't like what is said.

And therein lies the problem. There is NO REAL RESEARCH concerning ecigs. Easy enough to say its good for you or doesn't cause damage in the long run, when there is no supporting scientific evidence. Seat of your pants observation isn't scientific BTW.

I'll give you that (and my post that started this was mainly a joke, I guess I forgot the smiley), but if you don't think the government and big tobacco won't do whatever it takes to protect their pocketbooks you're wrong. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you and every conspiracy theory isn't just a theory.
