using cotton for wick

Hey everyone i was going to start rebuilding and i was going to try cotton but every where i look is says something about organic cotton but does it have to be organic or will any cotton work

Any cotton will work, but organic is better to use because it's whitened with hydrogen peroxide instead of harsher chemicals. It's best to boil your cotton and let it dry throughly before using. I use organic cotton balls from Walgreens.

do i need to boil all cotton or just the non organinc

I wouldn't boil cotton balls or q-tips, but I do boil all my yarn and hemp twine. Anything that is not considered sterile should be considered contaminated with something you probably don't want to vape.

I by peaches and creme 100% cotton yarn and boil it for 10-15 minutes. works and taste great. Any bad thing about cotton and it doesnt seem to last very long.

I second this. I use Kroger sterile cotton balls. Pretty sure any sterile cotton balls you can find in Pharmacies are fine.

My cotton wicks vary greatly in how long they last. I have a cappuccino blend that kills wicks in a day, but most of my clear juices seems to wick well for 2-3 days before it needs replacement.

I recently started rebuilding myself! First I used the cotton off of q-tips but you do not get that much wick as opposed to cotton balls so get yourself a bag of cotton balls. Since those are for beauty/health they are not treated with as harsh chemicals but the ones that say USP 100% Sterile are your best bet. I haven't had a bad taste or anything so far and I have never boiled them. I have built about 10 or so for my protanks/evods and I have not used half a ball yet. A great money saver!

once the cotton goes bad can u use the same coil and just replace the cotton

I change mine about every 2 or 3 days, less if I use bobas bounty, that juice is a pain in the azz to vape

I'm loving the cotton, but I usually can't rewick it more than once without goofing up the coil and I still have to rewick daily.

I use organic cotton balls from Whole Foods ... I boil them ... Love using cotton and it's inexpensive

Been using cotton for several months now. Sterile cotton from CVS, never boil, as the coil wick. Peaches and cream (two strands) for the flavor wick on top. I use it in Kanger T3S, built my coils to 1.6 - 1.8ohms. When my tank is empty, pull all the cotton and toss, rinse the coil, dry, dry burn, rewick and refill. Super fast super easy superior taste.

I replaced my wick in a kanger coil with the 100% cotton peaches and cream from walmart that was recommended. I fluffed out the ends then I let is sit for 1/2 an hour after I filled the tank, and it tasted burnt immediately... I was really disappointed.

Just tried cotton wick for the first time today, in a micro coil. Tis' the shiz Methinks I'll be switching from ekowool in my non-genesis setups.

I just boil a cotton ball for 15 minutes, then reboil for another 15 with fresh water, strain, dry, and its good to go. Just don't try burn, yuck!
