Vamo V2 Center Pin Broke, Can't remove top portion, halp :(

Just picked up my V2 from Vapor Alley a couple weeks ago, and yesterday the center pin started acting up (9.9 ohm readings, etc) looked up the gasket fix from here (and reddit, etc) and was all gung-ho to get it done. Upon pulling out the gasket, the pin came with it, no wire attached, and nothing but a bit of solder on the pin. I watched the vamo disassembly video and tried to follow it, but the top potion (not the battery side) absolutely refuses to budge. I've seriously got gouges in my vamo now thanks to trying to pry it off. Is there any easier way to go about this? Can I fish the wire out somehow, or push it through from the other side? Does the chip board come out at all? Could probably resolder the wire from there and place it all back inside..

I'm just really upset right now that I can't return my vamo, or even use my new toy. I'd love to fix it and have my own custom jerry-rigged creation, but I'm just so frustrated right now. Want halp :(
