Hi I've been lurking for a while using the info here to help me start to diy. My order from ecigexpress got here today and I promptly mixed up my first 3 bottles. all 5ml 50/50 pg/vg 8mg nic. 1 no flavor just nic (vaping it now) 2 organic strawberry 3 honeysuckle. I'll make 3 more tomorrow and keep doing that until I try all my flavors and then start mixing
this is my starting point

thanks guys Danny I've read your blogs you've been a big help thanks ( I'm kind of surprised you didn't post your standard newbie post:D).
I failed to state above all flavors in tasting stage will be 10%
first impressions on unflavored nic what I've read about the nic I got from ecigexpess is true clean has a taste but I cant describe it I am also getting some sweet from the pg. I like it and I think it might make a nice change up once and a while.
I'm about to try the honeysuckle will up date in a tank or 2

Nic is much more expensive up here in Canada. I make 10 mls of 5% of a flavor with no nic and let it sit for a couple days before giving it a try. I'm not building complex formulas nor do I want to. I'm more interested in how flavors taste so I have a better idea of what to expect in a recipe. I have vaped enough storebought juice having flavors I don't like so making a 1 or 2 flavor DIY juice is just fine with me. I made several different tobaccos in bigger batches and now going to ratio them into smaller different combo samples to see how they are together. Making a ADV tobacco is top of my list long before trying to recreate someone else's formula.
I made a DIY magnetic mixer out of a computer fan and hardrive magnet, its a god send not having to shake juice any more.

I can tell by what you bought and how you didn't over spend (which is always good practice when first starting out) as well as how your approching mixing that you've done some decent research. I see your testing individual flavors before trying to make complicated mixes which is what I tell everyone just starting out. So I didn't see the need to make any suggestions. You seem to be doing pretty well on your own. My only observance is that you didn't make mention of the size of your test samples. I would assume your making 5 - 10ml test samples. Anything larger is a waste of material. Expecially if it comes out so bad that it has to go down the drain. And if I'm forced to vape something subpar I would much rather have to only vape 10ml's of it then 30ml's if you get my drift.

Your off to a good start but we're here to help if you get stuck so all you need to do is ask, as for now all I can say is.....well done.

approximately 3 minutes ago I tried my first DIY and lemme tell you... YUK LOL. I know it needs to steep. Very harsh and strong.

Sometimes steeping doesn't help. I have tried to make a bad juice good but has never worked out. Kinda like polishing a turd. In the end it is still a turd. In that case I just dump it out and start over. Most times steeping can make a good juice better but not a bad juice good. Some juices need no steeping. The fun of DIY..........

To the OP welcome you can learn a lot here :vapor:

I have yet to flush a juice.I find you have to have the additives(sweet, sour, smooth, and wizard) to tweak it.A drop of this or a drop of that,It is a learning curve.I am learning that I put to much flavor most of the time.I cut it with VG.some have been a chore till i got it close and the batch would be done.LOL
Thanks for all the info.
