Travel and Vaping Vaping on Trains

Sorry if there's already a thread for this. I couldn't find much when I did a search other than one thread about Amtrak.

Does anyone have any experience using their e-cig on trains? I ride a few different trains on a regular basis and was curious if any of you have had any successes or issues taking discrete puffs while traveling on rails.

More specifically, has anyone had any experience with NJ Transit, SEPTA, or Metro-North rails?

I know that New Jersey has laws against e-cigs in public places, so I'm going to assume that it's not in my best interest to push my luck while riding NJ Transit.

I haven't been able to find any info on SEPTA or MTA (Metro-North) mentioning e-cigarettes. I'm on my way to philly later today, so once I switch over from NJ Transit to the SEPTA, I'll be trying my luck then and I'll come back with my results. (Though, if I'm feeling daring, I might try to sneak a stealthed puff or two on NJ Transit once the train has mostly been emptied out.)

I have vaped on NJ Transit and Metro North without issues...but admittedly I was semi-stealthy about it. Not hiding it, but not blowing clouds at people either. Nobody has bothered me.

I take that trip often from NYC to NJ or Philly. I just do it discretely. Also I much prefer taking the bus (mega or bolt). Its cheaper and they have the power outlets.

I'm all for Bolt bus. Thing is I never know if I'll be able to leave work on time so I usually shy away from them cause I have to schedule a time. I take it you've never run into any problems vaping on mega/bolt bus?

I have actually only taken Mega before. I just do it discretely I haven't asked. I believe with Bolt you can pay on the bus but with Mega you have to reserve it.

Had no issues stealthing discretely on the NJ Transit or SEPTA. So far so good

Nice I just took NJ Transit tonight too. I figured if the guy next to me could drink why can't I vape.

Vape all the time in Europe or Asia on trains, never been on one in the US.
