Ok what does ohm mean or RBA? And then i see all these different names and number when people are talkinh about different mods. Its all kind of confusing and overwhelming
Ohms are a measurement of resistance.... think of it like the higher the ohms the more friction is generated to create heat as volts pass through the wire. RBA stans for rebuildable atomizer. RTA is Stands for rebuildable Tank Atomizer generally RBA refers to a section that can bwe added to a tank that also has prebuilt coils as an option. RBA is usually part of what companies are now calling RDTA

Hi Taryn32. Welcome to the ECF.

Ohms are a Measure of Electrical Resistance.

The Atomizers we use have a Piece of wire in them that acts as a Heating Element to Vaporize the e-Liquid. The wire Heats up do to Electrical Resistance. Much like how a the way the wire in a Light Bulb glows when it is turned on.

For the Same Voltage, an Atomizer with a Low Ohm will produce More Vapor and run "Hotter" than a Atomizer with a Higher Ohm. Anything with less that 1 Ohm we call it "Sub-Ohm".

When you buy an Atomizer that uses a Pre-Made Coil Head, or when you make your Own Coils from bare wire, the amount of Ohms is like a Guideline that tell you how "Hot" the Coil-Head or Coil is going to run for a given Voltage.

---

RDA stands for ReBuildable Dripping Atomizer. That is an Atomizer where you build your Own Coil, put it in the RDA and then wick it yourself. Usually with Cotton Fibers.

Here is an Example of an RDA ...

Snap_5.jpg

This one uses 2 Coils. Some use just 1 Coil.

An RDA doesn't have a Tank that hold e-Liquid. The e-Liquid is held in the Cotton and a small amount is held in the Bottom of the RDA.

So after you take a Few Hits, you need to "Drip" a few drops into the RDA so it Doesn't run Dry.

---

RTA's work the same Basic way. But they have a Tank that Hold e-Liquid. So you just Fill the Tank and don't have to Drip every 3 or 4 Hits.

You've confused RBA with RDA i believe here friend.

Thank you that is a great explanation! !

Didnt wana call you out, but didnt want to lead someone so fresh astray either.

You Absolute should have pointed that out.

For someone who is New, it is Hard Enough to wade thru all the Acronyms and Jargon we use. Let Alone when someone post something that is Incorrect.

So can you but rebuilt coils on an RTA
Well, now there are Prebuilt coils and there are dropin/mfg coil heads that some people call coils also..

RTA's in their truest sense you have to manually put in the coils and wick them etc... RDTA usually refers to Sub-ohm tanks and the like that you can buy premade mfg coil heads that have coil wick etc you just screw on/off as you please.
