Start askin'... we'll start answerin'Was tying to use the link in the ecig wiki thread buy it says it unsafe and wont take me to the page. So can anyone help me out with learning the lingo? Thanks
Ohms are a measurement of resistance.... think of it like the higher the ohms the more friction is generated to create heat as volts pass through the wire. RBA stans for rebuildable atomizer. RTA is Stands for rebuildable Tank Atomizer generally RBA refers to a section that can bwe added to a tank that also has prebuilt coils as an option. RBA is usually part of what companies are now calling RDTAOk what does ohm mean or RBA? And then i see all these different names and number when people are talkinh about different mods. Its all kind of confusing and overwhelming
They are making my head spin. LolThere's a lot more acronyms and terms in vaping. I'm still learning them myself!
VV = Variable VoltageThey are making my head spin. Lol
You've confused RBA with RDA i believe here friend.Hi Taryn32. Welcome to the ECF.
Ohms are a Measure of Electrical Resistance.
The Atomizers we use have a Piece of wire in them that acts as a Heating Element to Vaporize the e-Liquid. The wire Heats up do to Electrical Resistance. Much like how a the way the wire in a Light Bulb glows when it is turned on.
For the Same Voltage, an Atomizer with a Low Ohm will produce More Vapor and run "Hotter" than a Atomizer with a Higher Ohm. Anything with less that 1 Ohm we call it "Sub-Ohm".
When you buy an Atomizer that uses a Pre-Made Coil Head, or when you make your Own Coils from bare wire, the amount of Ohms is like a Guideline that tell you how "Hot" the Coil-Head or Coil is going to run for a given Voltage.
---
RBA stands for Re-Buildable Atomizer. That is an Atomizer where you build your Own Coil, put it in the RBA and then wick it yourself. Usually with Cotton Fibers.
Here is an Example of an RDA ...
This one uses 2 Coils. Some use just 1 Coil.
And RBA doesn't have a Tank that hold e-Liquid. The e-Liquid is held in the Cotton and a small amount is held in the Bottom of the RBA.
So after you take a Few Hits, you need to "Drip" a few drops into the RBA so it Doesn't run Dry.
---
RTA's work the same Basic way. But they have a Tank that Hold e-Liquid. So you just Fill the Tank and don't have to Drip every 3 or 4 Hits.

Thank you that is a great explanation! !Hi Taryn32. Welcome to the ECF.

Didnt wana call you out, but didnt want to lead someone so fresh astray either.
Never Type without putting on your Glasses.
I mean prebuilt coilsSo can you but rebuilt coils on an RTA
That is a great idea!I think people should post some acronyms and terms , how about you @Taryn32?
Didnt wana call you out, but didnt want to lead someone so fresh astray either.
Well, now there are Prebuilt coils and there are dropin/mfg coil heads that some people call coils also..So can you but rebuilt coils on an RTA
