I didn't replace it with just another spring, I bought the repair kit from rob and used the spring that was in that. For whatever reason the one from the repair kit gave me less voltage drop. Both springs are the OEM ones.
that's good and also interesting. I'll be checking my spare springs to see if they have a lower resistance.

Definitely do the research. A good grasp on how electricity works, some mechanical ability, and some common sense go a long way here. Rocket surgery, it ain't though...:p
