I recently had a discussion with Stubear, it seems that a little clarification wrt terminology is much needed here. Let me explain...
Some good products are being diluted with
knock offs. It is the business that we are in. It is unfortunate that it is what it is, but it is.
The "true" eGo was developed by Janty and manufactured by JoyE. These are the only "true" JoyE eGos, the rest are
knock offs.
The OEM for the "true" eGo is JoyE and Janty has agreed that the "eGo" can be re-branded (personalised) for individual vendors e.g The Tornado for Totally Wicked, or the Happy eGo for Happy Vaper, and so on....
JoyE is the only true manufacture for the eGo "clones". e.g Tornado, Happy eGo etc...
Examples of
knock offs are: the Riva, the T-Rex, the VGo etc...
The prices for these "knock offs" is quite reasonable in comparison with the eGo, so is the quality unfortunately. In order to maintain the purity off the product, and because this is the "eGo" sub forum, only eGos manufactured by JoyE will be discussed here.
Notwithstanding, this caveat may upset some, but in the interest of the community at large we believe the public has a right to know what they are buying and what performance they should get from their products. Therefore, only eGos and re-branded eGos
manufactured by JoyE will be discussed in the "eGo user group". Knock offs are welcome to be discussed for comparison purposes only. In depth
reviews of these knock offs should be posted in the e-cig
reviews or their appropriate vendor section but not here.
It is our belief that in doing so it will increase community awareness to better form an educated decision. It has been seen that some vendors are calling knock offs eGos and this further exacerbates the problem. As we cannot control (nor do we intend to) what vendors do, we (Stu and I) can at least maintain the purity of the "eGo" here in the user group.
Thank you for your understanding.
