Regulated or mech box?
Low or high power regulated?
Resistance range being used?
What does the manufacturer of your ' box ' or the ' chip ' inside recommend?
Depends on your amp drain.
I recently scooped up 2 pairs of the Samsung 25R's myself. My LG HE2's were beginning to drain quickly so I figured it was time to get some new batteries.
The 25R's are great for a box mod, assuming you don't plan on going over 30A. Ideally your box (if it's regulated) should prevent damage to your batteries occurring, but I think it's always a good idea to prepare for the "worst case scenario" where all protection fails, which means not going over the amp limit for the batteries chip or for your batteries.
Any of these batteries would be suitable/preferable/ideal for a box mod or a mech mod:
+1. Up to 20 amps, or under 100 watts for a regulated box, the Sammy 25R are just about perfect. Over 20 amps, over 100 watts, or in a mech mod, the Sony VTC4s are my call.
Come to that, I do too. But in truth there are some application for which the 25R would be a better choice, if it can handle the expected loading. I mostly use nothing but the VTC4s because I am a mekkie, and I already have a bunch of them. I don't want batteries of different specs laying around in case I should have an attack of the stupids and put the wrong one in something
