Vapers in Power (VIP) is a UK Registered Political Party.

It was set up primarily to give a voice to Vapers if the EU's Tobacco Products Directive was enacted to the full by the UK Government.

Article 20, Section 5 of the said Directive, could ban all the promotion of vaping and vaping products, should the UK Government choose to do so. They cannot however, remove the freedom of speech of a Registered Political Party.

The full Power and purpose of VIP will not really come into effect until after such a ban comes in, however, as a Political Party, we have a duty to get involved in the upcoming General Election.

We are fielding two candidates on the 7th of May;

Liam Bryan in Kingswood, Bristol and
Billy Marsden in Barnsley East

Two very different constituencies and two very different candidates, with ONE thing in common - there are vapers in both consitiuencies and those people may have their right to vape what they want to vape taken away from them next year.

To fund the Election campaigns, we are crowdfunding via indiegogo as we have no big backers from Big Tobacco or even big vaping companies. We also have no official membership scheme as yet.

If you can spare a quid (or more) to help us generate a bit of interest in OUR cause, it will help get our voice heard in Local and maybe even National press. More smokers and vapers will begin to understand that our freedom to BE a smoker/vaper is being undermined by Big Business and Big Politics, and MORE British citizens are likely to understand that and support us post-TPD.

Here is the link, please help if you can (there are only 3 days left of the crowdfunding campaign) - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/vapers-in-power-general-election-campaign-2015--2
