It's like anything else in this world. You are paying for someone's time, talent and craftsmanship. As they say in the world of bicycles

  • Cheap
  • Fast
  • Reliable

Pick Two. You can't have all three.

I just picked up my first Hybrid. It's a tube, tank, wick and coil. It's beautifully machined, well designed, and should last a lifetime. But it was $200 and was the cheapest one I could find and it's worth every cent. I saw in one post a guy made a mod out of an old Altoids box. It probably cost him $10 in materials. Pretty impressive if you want to do that sort of thing. I don't have the $10 guys skills, nor do I want to learn them. There are solutions at all points of the spectrum.
