it's from local store here. I can't find it on ebay. try to look for it in knitting stores.

yes. but boil it, changing water several times.

the link I posted is the only thing I've found so far that's not colored at all and is 100% cotton 100% organic

everything in the craft stores around here is dyed with 'organic dyes' at best

I don't understand your fear about dye process. Bleached White works fine.

Any colored yarn is bleached first, then dyed. Bleaching removes organic components that give a natural color. So i suspect using nonbleached yarn is a little bit similar to using dyed.

the link I posted is for 100% cotton, no dye, no bleach, no color except naturally occurring

so inhaling bleach is safe? does the 10-30 minute boil remove all the bleach? I dunno.

Interesting material, I thik it worths try, but I see some problems making a well shaped wick. Rope-like material is more convinient. Maybe you should have to spin a rope ftom it. Spined fiber forms a capillar channels along whole wick, not spined forms a good capillar structure near the coil, where fibers bounded by coil, and no chanels at the ends, where fibers spread.
