Good evening everyone. What gauge kanthal would you recommend for rebuilding coils (RBA deck) in my Kanger top tank mini? I have watched several videos and feel confident, but different videos suggest different gauges of kanthal. I am currently using 50/50 juices but intend to try 80-100% vg. The top tank is coupled with standard 75w top box mini. Many thanks in advance.

I use 26 gauge exclusively on attys with Post holes, and 28 gauge when i have to trap leads under screw heads.

I run 5 Kanger tanks including a top tank and depending on what ohm you like, any really. However, I run 6 wraps of 28 and get around .5ohm. Seems to be my preferred coil these days for a good solid, reliable vape all day.

Yup I agree with sonicbomb 26 would probably be the best overall. You may want to get some 28 guage aswel to see which you prefer.

I have found that around 2.5mm inner diameter gives the best amount of space around the outside for air flow and amount of wick balance between flooding and dry hits. YMMV

316L SS is less springy than kanthal but lower in ohms for the same gauge. I case you want to try that some day.

I did a triple twisted 30g on 2.5m 8/9 wraps. Came out around .7 ohms. This was for my G/F who likes to vape 10-14 watts. (Subtank Mini RBA, same thing though)

I do 9 wraps of 26 ga SS316l around 2.4 mm. works out to .6 - .7 ohms Vapes best at 18-20 watts.
If you do 3 mm you can short out on the chimney when you reassemble.

My experience differs from using a Kanger tank. Currently, using a Velocity V2 style deck. At present, I've two parallel 28 awg Kanthal coils on this deck, vertical. Each coil is running ~ 0.6 ohms, so with 2 I'm netting ~ 1.2 ohms. I have used some twisted 316 SS that was 26 awg. Want more SS but think I'll use a thicker gauge of it. I like the 28 awg Kanthal fine enough. The SS lets me have something different once in a while.

I could be wrong but if two are reading 1.2 Ohm I thought that ment they were each 2.4 Ohm. making a .6 Ohm with 28 AWG is like 3/4 wraps.
