Ooops, looks like I should have inserted the word "local" into the question. By "community" I meant your town, city, or county. Unless you live in an awfully large community, air fare would not be required.
I would be there... If I had the resources I would travel and attend other locales as well...
I would certainly attend a meeting in my own community. If the state were considering legislation against any form of reduced-harm products, I would get in my car and drive to the Capitol.
If it were local, I would definitely attend, if otherwise, it would depend on when and where
