Yihi SX350J Technology Discussion Thread

I have lurked around here for years without posting much till lately. I have read through 1000's of threads on ECF though, and usually read the largest popular threads in the forums. I came across this one http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/temperature-control/646920-sxmini-m-class-temp-control.html and saw that a mod in there wanted someone to open a thread about this chip. I hope this won't get me in any trouble. Please delete if it will.

I don't own one of these, but I am interested in exactly how it works. I'm also not up on posting pictures, so please post some on this chip, and specifications on it. I may just buy one. :)

im too tired really bt this is at odds with the spec for the mini m-class in some respects eg min output joules 5 for the board vs 10 for the mod...????
As far as I know because I don't own a sx mini (should I put that in bold?), the rest doesn't coincide with what the shipped manual states either. Remember the recommended 0.065 resistance vs what you can read in the table retird posted? Or maximum resistance being 0.3?

Not a stab at yihi. Probably one of those (sheet or manual) is outdated.

Question: besides that mod built by that German fellow on that YouTube video, are there already other mods with the sx350j board floating around?

I need two TP mods when summer arrives (long story involving water, almost no clothes, sun, sand, screaming kids) and since I already have a dna 40, why not something different.... But the sx mini seems too big for my likings.

A 5J (whatever that really means) min is much better to my mind. The ohm specs for the coils look a little more sensible (and a lot more DNA40-like!). Looks like this is the the definitive spec sheet!
Yes but unless yihi printed the manual months before shipping the mod... I've seen that sheet a month ago I believe?

My guess is that the posted sheet was made by yihi before they actually knew what they were doing and they grabbed Evolv's datasheet and adjusted it to make it look better (lower Ohms = more power) and stuff like that.

Whether the sheet is correct or not... just know it came from Yihi's web site today...carry on....

I know it did and we both know it's been there for some time and we also know that those specs are different from what the manual states so it's all speculation anyway.

Don't take everything as a personal attack.

Does your SXmini only go down to 10J? Mine will go down to 5J

Also, another correction to the spec sheet (this is on the YiHi FAQ) the minimum resistance in Joules mode is .05 Ohms, not .08

Has anyone bought a modders chip and actually have it installed in a mod yet? I'm curious if the modders boards they are selling also make the buzzing sound that the SXmini M Class makes in TC mode?

According to YiHi the spec sheet is incorrect. For reasons I don't understand YiHi has not corrected the SX350J chip specs for minimum oHms for Joules mode on their main site. However, YiHi did correct this spec specifically in a Q & A on their SX Mini FAQ page.
Q:What is the lowest resistance of the SXmini M Class device in order to use temperature control ?
A: It is 0.05ohm. Our spec.of SX350J chip wrote 0.08ohm.

Can we establish once and for all if this thing is firing in PWM? And if not what the hell is that Humming sound coming out of my SX Mini M Class? Ill be a little ...... if this thing is firing temp control in PWM because besides from that i love this thing better then my DNA40

Don't think we can say definitely but I'm under the impression that it doesn't use PWM.

I would agree also and I can only hear a slight buzz if I hold it 1" away from my ear in a quiet room so it has no relevance as far as noise is concerned. I believe it is just the way the device and the electronics within works.
