Tried to quit smoking in ~2006 using the patch. Worked for 4 months until I went with friends to a bar for my birthday.
Then in ~2012 I quit for 6 months after using Chantix via a University study, until I had 1 Black & Mild Jazz cigar after a stressful incident... Snowballed to more cigars, but never bought any cigarette packs. I inhale cigars though. So I started learning about vaping and am beginning to enjoy making my own juices at whatever strength I want. Not sure if I'm going to 0nic yet or not, but don't really care. I don't really buy any more cigars [nor cigarettes] now.
I've also been finding that the nicotine helps me with some issues of my disability (Fibromyalgia). It helps a tad with my memory (though unfortunately not enough to not be disabled on that account alone ), as well as with some depression due to not being able to do things I used to do.
In fact, it helps me with my cognition and memory more than ginkgo biloba ever did! With ginko I didn't notice any improvement at all. On top of that, at less than ~$30 a year for the nic solution (stockpiling in bulk, when on sale), it's also much much cheaper.
Photography, DIY vape mixing, and coil-and-wick making - keep me busy. Rayon (Cellucotton) outperforms them all - with NO sock taste!! I also dabble in making my own beeswax lip balms.
