Can I just add, that for any of us based in the UK who don't have access to a RadioShack, you could try Maplin product code JK09K. I've done the same as nicowolf and just removed the unused contacts. Fits perfectly inside an original 901 battery casing. Now all I need to do is find something...

How about this as a possible replacement? Sorry I can't post a link to it yet. There's a company here in the UK called maplin which happens to be the name of their website. They do a product with an order code of JK09K. Think that should get you there ! Straight out of the pack the centre...
