Possible solution for connecting 510 atomisers

Funny how you see that post and not the one on the page before it where I give the link to Victor Machinery Exchange about 2 and a half weeks before you posted your tap and die thread.

Possible solution for connecting 510 atomisers

Nah, I use dies and taps by hand, no lathe in my shop, unfortunately. I made up six feet of 8mm x 0.75 in about a minute a while back. Put the die in a vise, chucked up some correctly sized brass tubing in the hand drill, and drove it though the die. Worked great, just make sure you use...

Possible solution for connecting 510 atomisers

Here is my secret source for metric taps and dies: Amazon.com: 7mm x .5 High Speed Steel Plug Tap: Victor Machinery Exchange They ship fast, shipping seems kind of high, but they have stuff that you can't find anywhere else. Search thier store front. They have 7x1.25, 7x1.0, 7x.75....

    Meerschaum Pipe Mod that works

Kinabaloo, search for candle wick. They sell fiberglass wicking material. I was looking at other sites that sell ceramic rope and silica rope, but I guess I am a bit leary of inhaling those materials. I went with cotton, but I don't see an obious issue with fiberglass.

    Meerschaum Pipe Mod that works

Nice wok. I am with you guys on the "direct drive" approach. I ordered some parts earlier today for a dd atomizer. Glad to see the fiber wick proof of concept has already been done and shown viable.

    Lithium ion or Lithium Polymer?

I don't think CR123 come in anything but Li-Ion. DYODD Li_poly batteries are typically flat and retangular not cylindrical. The ones in a stock 901 could I guess be LI-Poly and just be long but square in cross section. Also I have never seen an LI-Poly that didn't have flat ribbon...

    Lithium ion or Lithium Polymer?

    I think it uses Li-Ion.

The PVMA no more worries for batt connectors!

:shock::shock: Wow, you must vape A LOT! :D My 2000mah boosted to 4.5V lasts almost 5 days, and my 1200mah 7.4 regulated down to 5 lasts for about 3.5 days. Is that 5000mah LI-Poly, Li-Ion, or what?

The PVMA no more worries for batt connectors!

How is anyone supposed to know if it will work with a 901 if you don't provide any specs? Why are you hi-jacking this thread? You already started your own thread on it.

The PVMA no more worries for batt connectors!

Nice work Warp! How is the air flow through the connector? Does air still pass through the hole in the positive lug of the atomizer?

    bad atomizer

Thant is why I stopped using carts and just drip. I went for weeks with no issues using carts, and then all of a sudden, no vaper. I tried brand new carts, grinding down the length of the atty so the bridge made good contact with the batting, different cart filler materials, no luck.

Lower / adjustable voltage from USB or 2 batteries

That's what I was thinking. Just plug it into just about any wall wart and away you go.

Lower / adjustable voltage from USB or 2 batteries

Nice find kinabaloo. Should work very well for experimentation given its large Vin range. Too bad the LM317 has such a high voltage drop out. Someone should make one of these with an LDO (hint to TI).

Possible battery for a long lasting mod...

The 18650's are 18mm in diameter...so closer to 3/4 than 1/2 inch in diameter. The standard naming convention for cylindrical LI-Ions is XXYY0. XX is the diameter, YY is the length. Both dimensions are given in millimeters. So a 18650 is 18mm in diameter, and 65mm long and a 14500 is...

    6V Mod Questions

You can go to TI's website, resiter and account, and they will send you some samples (up to 5 I think) for free. Here is a link to get you started: Linear Regulators - Single Channel LDO - UCC283-5 - TI.com Other than that, either Digikey, Mouser, Newark, etc. should have them.
