Entered this life in 1954 A.D. under the sign of Scorpio.

Born and raised in NorthWest Florida (a.k.a. *L.A. ((Lower Alabama), Wallace Country, "Bear Bryant Territory", Emerald Coast and other monikers).

Father was active in CBs and then Amateur Radio and currently holds a General ticket and vanity call of K4RMI. Growing up I was his 'Tower Monkey' and tasked to climb trees to secure and maintain his antennas and feedlines. Hense my interest in Amateur Radio was nill until recently.

Took all 3 test in sequence in late June 2015, was awarded a General ticket and call sign KG5IIC in early July 2015.

Retested for my Extra ticket in late July 2015 and was awarded in early August, 2015.

Since then I have applied for and received the vanity call sign 'AF5AF', a reference to my military service. 22 yrs, 6 mths and a few days in the USAF. Retired in 1995 as E-7 (Master Sergeant). My USAF carreer included working as an aircraft mechanic on OV-10A Broncos, 02 SkyMasters, C-130 A, E, H, J models to include Navy C-130s assigned to the Anartic Devron at Point Magoo NAS California. I was a Master Field Training Instructor for almost 10 years and have traveled extensively providing C-130 systems training to USA and Foriegn Country military units.

Presently, my 144/440 MHz antenna is a copper J-Pole on a 30 ft. mast and my radios consist of two Kenwoods TM-V71 Dual Bander in my truck and a TM-281 2 meter as a base unit. Looking forward to moving into HF bands and increasing the size of my 'radio herd'.

My Father gave me his ICOM IC-720A (All band HF) radio to which I mated an homemade OCFD with a 4:1 Balun made by a new *Ham Friend* KG5ABL. Hopefully, in the near future we will be able to build a couple more antennas...an "Extreme Dream Beam" *2 Meter, 7 element and maybe a multi-band hex-beam.

I like cool breezes and long walks on the beach at sun....Oops! Wrong Bio...

I enjoy the outdoors, fishing and hunting in general but hunting with Traditional Archery equipment is one of my greatest passions. My online monicker is "Neotoxo" and abbreviated derivitive of the words 'neophyte' and 'toxophilite'. Essentially meaning a new member/amateur student of archery. Have been since my pre-teen years. If there is a legal archery season for any game I am eager to pursue them. Fish, fowl, amphibian or furried critters, it makes no difference to me. I also enjoy the sport of trapping and try to leave no part of a harvest unused.

Thanks for your interest, hope to QSO in future. 73
