William W. Beil is a retired U.S. Army Photojournalist and an honor graduate of the Defense Information School, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. Mr. Beil was a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Speech-Communication, Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Illinois while completing his Master of Arts degree in that department. Mr. Beil also was employed by the Charleston Times-Courier as a general assignment reporter/photographer prior to completing his B.A. degree at EIU. Mr. Beil served over 17 years active duty with the U.S. Army and was assigned to a wide variety of bases, including those located in Germany, South Korea, Alaska and Panama, not to mention several state-side locations where he was designated Senior Non- Commissioned Officer in Charge (E-8 ranking) of U.S. Army Public Affairs headquarters. Mr. Beil was honorably discharged on 26 June 1996. He elected to drive 18-wheelers for various trucking companies, often coast-to-coast. He admits he did it for fun, excitement, the experience of it all and, mostly, because he just likes to drive big trucks. In August 2009, Mr. Beil officially "retired" from the 9-5 daily clockwork grind and is currently a freelance writer/photographer working out of his home office in Springdale, Arkansas USA.
