From what I understand about the current fuses, yes, once the fues reaches a certain temp, they cut the circuit, the first version being like a small electrical tube/automotive fuse where the fuse is blown and the circuit can never be completed, and the second version more like a house breaker...

Have you tried the kick on other telescoping mods? Only a thought, but the fact that the battery tube and switch are not a on a single plane might have have something to do with the inconsistent fires... though I don't see why this should be the case as there should be more than enough surface...
