Pros
  • Water Resistant, Ergonomic Design
Cons
  • Fragile battery door button, weak battery door latch , uncomfortable fire button feel
Purchased my Aegis Legend for its reported durability and design. After about 3 months of regular use (never dropped), the battery door button came off; however, I could still open the battery door using a pen tip. About 4 weeks later, the locking latch holding the battery door closed failed. The molded plastic retainer holding the locking latch failed. As the Legend was just my latest mod to experience battery door issues (Tesla Steampunk, Smoke Alien, and sigelei 213W all had issues with the battery door) I have switched to mods with magnetic side covers.

Here's a thought. What about a design that utilizes a battery magazine concept much like magazines used for firearms. Keep a spare battery mag with your mod. When the batteries are discharged, just press a release button, eject the spent battery mag, and pop in a fully charged mag.

Not sure I’m buying the never dropped thing but I suppose it’s possible. In any case dropping or not dropping shouldn’t cause that.
It would take a major manufacturing error that got by quality control to do it.
There are 4 Allen key screws on the inside bottom of the door which if removed, should expose the broken bits.
