Me too. A real beautiy. We're working on a '73 Bristol 34 we got dirt cheap. Looks like a '73 Winnabago, LOL!!! She's solid, but rode VERY HARD and "put up wet" by previous owners. She'll sail again soon though. We're working on the portlights and interior right now. Skinning and deck core replacement is next on the bow and cockpit sole and come spring, reglassing the bottom and painting the whole shebang. The hull's been drying for 2 years now (blisters), but it wasn't too bad. Hope to splash by June.
Hi there, no actually it is an american made boat (Rhode Island), a Shannon 43. She was a fairly heavy displacement boat, built for offshore cruisng. But good eye on the length though.
I lived on that boat for 7 years, going between Europe in the summer and the Carribean in the winter. Once I moved back to land it broke my heart to see her rotting away (she was fiberglass, but you know how it is w/boats that aren't sailed, they don't do very well) so I sold her to Irshman that was going to take her to Australia. That was 15 years ago, so I have well and truely "swallowed the anchor".

But I will tell you, as my boys are growing I am hearing the call of the blue water more and more. I think I might have another boat in me.
The name Carter rings a bell. Wasn't a Carter one of the boats that made through the '79 Fastnet race unscathed. If so, they must be fine seakeeping boats.
Thanks for the line, I miss the comradeship of fellow sailors. One of the joys of cruising.
Your boat dragged me here :) Is it actually a Camper and Nicholson 43?

Oddly enough, I lived on a Carter 33 for 2.5 years on the Isle of Wight in the UK and returned to dry land to raise two girls - well moved to Canadian dry land to....

I'm now living 500 miles from the sea but intend to return to a boat in the Caribbean or Australia as a big component of retirement, when it comes.
