Why, exactly do you prefer to use a P channel? Unless you are using a voltage regulator, an N channel is preferred.
With a voltage regulator, most will still operate with a floating ground, hence an N channel will not work for this application. However, I have not had time to devote to utilizing a P channel on the voltage supply of a regulator.
If you ARE using a regulator and want a touch switch, I can help you with an alternative solution, one that doesn't require any external contacts. It senses your finger through the box.
